Job Description

At Jetstar, you’ve got the freedom to grow, steer and make the job yours. All with the support of a team who loves to watch their teammates soar. Together, we get to takeoff at work, and in real life. As we continue to evolve and grow, we're looking for a commercially minded Senior Finance Analyst to join our Finance team in Melbourne.

This isn't your typical finance role. As part of the Corporate and Finance Transformation team, you'll work across multiple business units, stepping into high-impact projects, strategic initiatives and business partnering opportunities wherever support is needed most. You'll have the chance to influence decision-making, challenge performance, improve processes and provide commercial insights that help shape the future of the business.

You'll support business leaders and Finance Managers by providing financial planning, analysis and commercial advice across a diverse range of priorities. Depending on business needs, you may be focused on strategic projects, dedicated business partnering, commercial analysis or supporting key finance deliverables. You’ll be a champion of our Finance BI dashboards, supporting the team to ensure reporting remains accurate, reliable and fit for decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities.
  • Analysing business performance and identifying key drivers, risks and opportunities.
  • Delivering commercial insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Preparing and interpreting financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow analysis.
  • Support and maintain Finance BI dashboards, ensuring reporting remains accurate, reliable and fit for business decision-making.
  • Supporting business cases, investment appraisals and project evaluations.
  • Conducting benchmarking, competitor and performance analysis.
  • Contributing to finance governance, risk management and compliance activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, systems and financial processes.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical finance capability with a curious, commercial mindset and the confidence to partner with stakeholders across the business.

You'll bring:

  • A degree in Finance, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
  • CA or CPA studies underway (or equivalent finance qualification).
  • 3–5 years' experience in management accounting, commercial finance, FP&A or business analysis.
  • Experience building, editing and maintaining Power BI dashboards to support finance reporting, analysis, performance insights and business decision-making.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency across Microsoft Office.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a passion for continuous improvement.

There’s a place for everyone at Jetstar: For us, travel and meeting new people go hand in hand. We invite our people to get involved in various Employee Network Groups that play an important role in creating our inclusive and supportive culture that we are fiercely proud of. We believe that teams with a diversity of ideas and experiences are more creative, innovative and solve problems quickly. We welcome applications from anyone who wants to takeoff with us. If you have support or access requirements, just reach out and let us know what you need
