Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development with one or more programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, etc.
  • Experience with Android Application development, full-stack development for Android applications supported by server back-ends.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience integrating solutions into workflows or products.
  • Experience managing a global-team across multiple time-zones.
  • Proven track record of strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven expertise in the following domains: Android application development, data analysis, Kotlin language, and other devices or models.

  • Mentor, coach, and manage a team of software engineers on the Pixel Retention team, setting clear expectations, prioritizing tasks, and supporting their career development.
  • Define the year-over-year strategy and mid-term technical goal for the Pixel Retention App, contributing to high-level architecture and ensuring solid technical design choices across the team.
  • Build and grow relationships with Product, User Experience (UX), and Google Store organizations. Align roadmaps and processes to ensure smooth development and high productivity.
  • Vet system designs, solve ambiguous technical problems, and ensure engineering excellence through rigorous design and code reviews for Android applications and supporting server back-ends.
  • Identify opportunities to use device or model to optimize the team's workflows and drive global collaboration across multiple time zones.
