The Opportunity

PAF is seeking a Senior Technical Data Analyst to join our IT team here in Hampton, VA. This role will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, identifying trends and patterns, and presenting findings that inform organizational decision-making. Working closely with both the business and technical teams, the Senior Technical Data Analyst will apply a proven understanding of PAF and NPAF’s data systems, and help improve the way we collect, analyze, and use data to make a positive impact in the lives of the patients we serve.

This position is eligible for remote work, and we are considering candidates primarily within the Eastern Time Zone, which includes Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., and Florida.

The Ideal Candidate responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of a data strategy framework at the enterprise level. This will include different aspects of data strategy such as Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Architecture
  • Perform various functions, which primarily involves providing analytic and technical skills necessary to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities to solve business problems
  • Conduct detailed data analysis on data used across business units to evaluate business processes and improve on/create new features
  • Responsible for developing and executing tools to monitor and report on data quality
  • Provide expert review and technical guidance in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies
  • Research, design, and implement solutions to improve and enhance current data infrastructure with a focus on integrating data from multiple systems and optimizing data access and reporting
  • Design conceptual data models for optimal integration, flexibility, and scalability to meet a variety of business use cases
  • Work with data team to provide data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers
  • Serve as an active team member and/or project lead for data-related initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis
  • Expertise in MS SQL management studio or equivalent software for data querying and processing
  • 3+ years of experience working in a senior or leadership role
  • Experience working with large and complex data sets
  • A high degree of comfort with statistical analysis and modeling techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-leading data management standards and concepts
  • Working knowledge of big data systems such as Apache Hadoop
  • Experience working with an offshore team is preferred
