Job Description
The successful candidate will play a key role in connecting business needs with technology solutions. The position involves analysing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities and applying data-driven insights to support decision-making across the organisation. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, delivery teams and technical specialists.
Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements and objectives.
- Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Analyse existing business processes and workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop process maps, use cases and supporting documentation to guide solution design and delivery.
- Work with technical teams and business stakeholders to maintain alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Support the development of business cases, feasibility assessments and cost-benefit analyses.
- Support testing activities, including user acceptance testing planning and solution validation.
- Provide guidance and support on business analysis approaches, tools and standards.
- Maintain awareness of developments in business analysis, data utilisation and public sector transformation.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst on data analytics, digital transformation or technology-enabled projects.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, use cases and functional specifications.
- Ability to analyse business challenges and translate requirements into practical solutions.
- Experience communicating effectively with stakeholders at different organisational levels.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Experience working independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience using DevOps tools and practices.
- Experience working with Power BI.
- Experience supporting Agile, Scrum or similar delivery methodologies.
Desirable Criteria
- Agile or Scrum certification.
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience supporting public sector organisations.
- Experience working on multi-agency or cross-department programmes.
- Knowledge of housing-related datasets, reporting requirements or government programmes.
- Experience contributing to data analytics initiatives and reporting projects.
