About the Role

Join a fast-growing AI developer tools company as a Pre-Sales Deployed Engineer based in London. You'll be the technical heartbeat of the sales process — partnering closely with an Account Executive to win enterprise deals by running hands-on technical pilots with customers' engineering teams. This is emphatically not a pure sales role or a pure engineering role: you need to be genuinely capable of both writing production-quality code and closing deals.

The company has proven product-market fit with enterprise customers and is now in scaling mode — making this an exciting moment to join and shape how the go-to-market motion evolves across Europe.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with an Account Executive as the dedicated technical expert throughout the pre-sales cycle, from discovery through to deal close.
  • Design and run 4-week technical pilots with prospective customers' developer teams, including kickoff calls, office hours, and live pair-programming sessions.
  • Present the product's vision, benefits, and differentiators to audiences ranging from individual developers to C-suite executives.
  • Deliver technical training, live demos, and enablement resources (documentation, guides, blogs, videos) that help developers understand and maximise the product's value.
  • Create and maintain technical collateral tailored to enterprise customers.
  • Relay critical customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams, directly influencing the roadmap.
  • Travel to customer sites or industry events as needed to support engagements.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 1+ years of solutions or pre-sales engineering experience for a technical product (developer tools strongly preferred).
  • Strong computer science fundamentals — CS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one OOP language; comfortable pair-programming with customers to solve real problems in real time.
  • Proven ability to deliver technical training, live demos, and customer-facing enablement content.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools (e.g. AI code completion, LLM-based coding assistants) and genuine excitement for emerging AI/LLM technology.
  • Fluency in both German and English.
  • Executive presence — able to lead product kickoffs and earn the trust of senior engineering and business stakeholders alike.
  • Evidence of, or clear motivation for, moving into a sales-oriented role.
  • Commitment to long-term employment; preference for early-stage startup experience over large tech company environments.

Nice to Have

  • Background or degree from a top CS programme.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Europe for customer engagements.

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Primary location: London, UK — 100% on-site, 5 days per week.
  • German-based candidates may also be considered; compensation and workplace details may vary accordingly.
  • Visa sponsorship is available.

Compensation

  • Salary range: $108,000 – $140,000 USD annually (London-based; EUR equivalent for Germany-based candidates).
