Requirements
We're looking for a seasoned analyst with a knack to find out what happens inside systems, without a clear documentation to support the process.
What you'll do
- Work out how the business really uses the current system: which screens, which processes, who does what.
- Keep a clear, current list of those processes and where each one stands.
- Write user stories and short, plain specs the developers can build from: screens, data, rules, and what "done" means.
- Check facts in the system yourself: open the screens, look up the records, answer questions hands-on instead of passing them on.
- Fact-check the new system against the old: run the same case in both, compare the results, and flag any difference before users find it.
- Speak up with suggestions; if the old way of doing something is clumsy, say so rather than copying it.
- Occasionally, step in for the product owner when needed
What we expect
- You've mapped business processes before, and you can do it from a system and its data
- You're comfortable diving into systems heads-on without a clear set of rules or guiding documents to uncover insights
- You write and document exceptionally well. A lot of your communication and insights sharing would be written
- You know ERP basics; orders, inventory, finance, etc..
- You're happy to dig into an unfamiliar system and learn it by using it.
- You take ownership and get going without being asked. If something is yours, it moves.
- You handle stakeholders well: keep them in the loop, manage expectations, and get answers.
Bonus
- You've worked with legacy systems before (green-screen or older ERPs)
