Full description
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with 4–6 years of hands-on experience to own and scale our cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and production reliability. You will work closely with engineering, QA, and security teams to build automated, observable, and secure systems that allow our developers to ship quickly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Cloud
- Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS) using Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Own environment management across development, staging, UAT, and production.
- Optimize cloud cost, right-size resources, and drive utilization improvements.
- Manage networking components — VPCs, subnets, load balancers, DNS, VPN, and firewall rules.
CI/CD & Automation
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines across multiple services and repositories.
- Automate build, test, artefact management, and deployment workflows.
- Implement deployment strategies such as blue-green, canary, and rolling releases.
- Reduce manual toil through scripting and internal tooling.
Containers & Orchestration
- Containerize applications and maintain image build standards and registries.
- Deploy, scale, and troubleshoot workloads on Kubernetes (EKS or self-managed).
- Manage Helm charts, autoscaling, resource quotas, and cluster upgrades.
Monitoring, Reliability & Incident Response
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing across services.
- Define and track SLIs/SLOs; drive down MTTR and reduce alert noise.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, lead incident response, and write postmortems.
- Plan and execute backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies.
Security & Compliance
- Implement secrets management, access controls, and least-privilege IAM policies.
- Integrate security scanning (SAST/DAST, image and dependency scanning) into pipelines.
- Support audit and compliance requirements, including patching and vulnerability remediation.
Collaboration & Ownership
- Partner with developers to improve build times, deployment frequency, and developer experience.
- Document architecture, run books, and operational procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- 4–6 years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred) — EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, or equivalents.
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code — Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or ArgoCD.
- Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Working knowledge of Git and modern branching strategies.
- Experience with monitoring and logging stacks — Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals — DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/S, TLS, load balancing, and proxies.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Experience running databases in production — backups, replication, and basic performance tuning.
Good to haves
- Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer, CKA, or CKAD.
- Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) or API gateways.
- Exposure to GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux).
- Experience with message queues and streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
- Prior experience in a regulated environment — BFSI, fintech, or healthcare.
- Familiarity with cost optimization tooling and FinOps practices.
- Exposure to chaos engineering or performance and load testing.
