Austin Industries has an outstanding opportunity for a proactive and analytical IT Business Analyst I at our corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. This role will serve as the critical link between business stakeholders and our technology teams, ensuring that solutions are aligned with strategic goals and deliver measurable value. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT projects, systems analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across operating companies to gather, document, and validate business requirements for technology solutions
- Analyze existing processes and systems, identify gaps, and propose improvements or new solutions
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for development and configuration teams
- Assist with project scoping, prioritization, and delivery planning in collaboration with the PMO
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and change management activities
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and status updates as part of agile or waterfall delivery frameworks
- Maintain documentation such as process flows, user stories, test cases, and data mappings
- Ensure compliance with IT governance and data security standards
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Construction or industrial services industry experience
- 0 - 3 years of work experience as a business analyst
- Experience with CMiC, OneStream, Egnyte or other enterprise platforms used at Austin
- Working knowledge of SQL and data integration concepts
- Business analysis certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative approach
- Experience working with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, or financial platforms
- Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, and hybrid project methodologies
- Proficiency in business analysis tools (e.g., Visio, JIRA, Confluence, Excel)
