Job Description:

Business Systems Analyst Intern

  • The Business Systems Analyst Intern will support the Information Technology organization by assisting in the analysis, documentation, and improvement of business processes and technology solutions. This role provides hands-on experience working with business stakeholders and IT teams to identify business needs, gather requirements, analyze data, support system implementations, and contribute to digital transformation initiatives. The intern will gain exposure to enterprise applications, business process mapping, project management, data analysis, and technology solution delivery while developing foundational skills in business analysis and IT consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and acceleration of IT projects, particularly PoCs and pilot initiatives
  • Assist with gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Support the analysis of business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Create process maps, workflow diagrams, and business requirements documentation.
  • Participate in meetings with business users, project teams, and IT personnel to understand system needs and priorities.
  • Help evaluate existing business systems and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support testing activities, including test planning, test script creation, execution, and defect tracking.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Participate in system implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects.
  • Help develop user training materials, job aids, and documentation.
  • Support change management and user adoption activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
  • Document business processes, system configurations, and project deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in: Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to learn new business processes and technologies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of business process analysis concepts.
  • Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or enterprise business systems.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Exposure to Agile, Scrum, or project management methodologies.
  • Experience with MS Power Platform, SQL, Power BI, or business intelligence tools.
  • Coursework related to business analysis, systems analysis, or project management.
