Overview

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java and cloud technologies to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend solutions. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience building enterprise-grade systems, a proven track record of technical leadership, and hands-on experience in the Healthcare industry. This role requires the ability to drive complex technical initiatives, influence architectural decisions, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable backend solutions using Java and modern cloud technologies.

• Drive the technical design and implementation of complex software features and critical system components.

• Translate business requirements into clear technical designs, architecture decisions, and actionable delivery plans.

• Provide technical leadership and influence engineering decisions across multiple teams.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve system architecture, performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Review code regularly, provide constructive feedback, and promote engineering best practices.

• Support estimation activities, technical planning, and solution decomposition.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues, addressing root causes and mitigating risks.

• Ensure solutions meet high standards for security, quality, operational excellence, and maintainability.

• Define and monitor operational metrics, system health indicators, and reliability standards.

• Make informed technical trade-off decisions at both feature and system levels.

• Foster knowledge sharing, mentoring, and collaboration within and across engineering teams.

Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Java and backend development frameworks.

• 5+ years of experience working with cloud platforms; Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience is highly preferred.

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade, distributed backend systems.

• Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems.

• Strong understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, scalability, and performance optimization.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

• Strong knowledge of security, reliability, and operational best practices.

• Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives from concept to production.

• Experience collaborating with multiple teams and influencing technical direction beyond immediate project scope.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.

• Experience in the Healthcare industry is required, including participation in at least two projects involving pharmaceutical systems, hospital integrations, medical records platforms, or healthcare data processing.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
