Role Overview The Senior .NET/C# Developer supports the design, development, integration, and lifecycle management of highly complex, enterprise-class, and mission-critical business applications. This role collaborates with business units, platform engineers, and external vendors to translate operational needs into technical designs, write robust code, and debug client-server application integrations. Operating in a hybrid model, the developer leverages modern Microsoft tools and database systems to ensure high availability and application performance. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with a high possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Software Development
- Design, develop, and support highly complex, enterprise-class, and mission-critical business applications utilizing .NET and C# architectures.
- Build, maintain, and modernize core software modules to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security.
- Integrate software systems with Microsoft's broader ecosystem of development, deployment, and configuration tools.
Database Integration & Architecture
- Code, test, and maintain robust application integrations with both Oracle and SQL Server database environments.
- Optimize database queries, stored procedures, and data-access layers to manage high-volume transactional processing.
- Collaborate with database administrators to ensure data consistency, security, and alignment with enterprise standards.
System Troubleshooting & Operations
- Implement advanced software troubleshooting, diagnostic, and debugging techniques to resolve complex failures within client-server environments.
- Investigate production bugs, configure technical workarounds, and support the resolution of operational incidents.
- Oversee application performance monitoring, lifecycle management, and standard development best practices.
Requirements & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with business units, internal project teams, and external technology vendors to develop comprehensive requirements, test plans, and technical specifications.
- Translate business-level operational rules into clean, well-documented, and scalable software code.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical alignment across cross-functional application teams.
Required Qualifications
- 6 or more years of experience developing and supporting highly complex, enterprise-class, and mission-critical business applications utilizing .NET and C#.
- 4 or more years of professional IT experience working within state, local, or federal government environments.
- 4 or more years of experience coding and optimizing application integrations with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- 4 or more years of experience coding integrations with Microsoft's ecosystem of software development and DevOps tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience working with Microsoft Visual Studio (version 2022 or higher).
- Functional knowledge of Visual COBOL (version V7 or higher).
- Proven experience applying software troubleshooting and debugging techniques within a client-server environment.
- Experience collaborating with business units and external vendors to author requirements, formulate test plans, and construct technical specifications.
