The Technical Project Manager for Live Productions (Audio) leads the full lifecycle management of live event audio projects, with a primary responsibility for delivering flawless sound solutions that meet client requirements from planning to completion. While expertise in lighting, video, and rigging is valued, the main purpose of the role is to ensure high-quality audio design, technical planning, detailed equipment logistics, and event execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work along side Live Productions Sales teams to gather, interpret, and translate client needs for audio into clear project plans and executable work orders.
  • Compile detailed audio equipment pull lists and build schematics for each event.
  • Work closely with the coordination and logistics teams to ensure all technical assets are catalogued, available in the correct warehouse, and delivered on time to the appropriate location.
  • Oversee audio system design, equipment specification, and all technical aspects of live events from planning through execution.
  • Confirm all necessary information and resources are arranged for top-quality audio, with lighting, video, and rigging treated as value-added bonuses.
  • Work with the operations team to ensure a smooth delivery.
  • Manage each project from initial brief through completion, including post-event reviews focused on audio delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain team communication, logistics, and project documentation to support collaboration and precise audio execution.
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.

Level of education

  • You will be educated to degree-level or equivalent practical experience in audio or live event production management, with proven expertise in sound systems and technology.

Essential Skills / Experience:

  • Work as an enthusiastic member of the team, developing positive working relationships with other Solotech's colleagues, departments, and external contacts.
  • Experience compiling equipment lists, technical schematics, and managing complex logistics across multiple warehouses and event sites.
  • Ability to deliver complex audio solutions for diverse live event settings; additional skills in lighting, video or rigging are advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with audio as the primary technical discipline.
  • Prior experience in client-facing project management, capable of independent work and prioritising audio solutions in all scenarios.

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • Knowledge of pro-audio equipment.

Essential requirements:

  • Right to work and remain in the UK
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours as required in addition to your normal hours of work from time to time
  • Willingness and ability to travel for live event delivery, including overnight stays where required.
