Full description

Arriva is one of Europe's leading passenger transport operators, employing around 35,000 people across 11 countries and delivering more than 1.5 billion passenger journeys each year.

We're looking for an analytical and solutions-focused MDM Materials Data Improvement Analyst to join our Finance Shared Services - Master Data Management (MDM) team on a six-month fixed-term contract.

This is an opportunity to support the enhancement of Inventory and Materials Master Data services across Arriva. Working within a collaborative shared services environment, you'll help develop smarter processes, deliver reporting and insights, and support the introduction of new tools and technologies that improve the way materials data is managed across the business.

Whether your experience comes from data analysis, business administration, supply chain, process improvement or systems support, you'll play a key role in helping colleagues access reliable information and more efficient ways of working.

This role operates on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of three days per week in our Thurmaston office and flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.

What you'll be doing

As an MDM Materials Data Improvement Analyst, you'll:

  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of Inventory and Materials Master Data processes.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, issues and areas for operational improvement.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards and performance insights for key stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain automated workflows using Microsoft Power Platform tools.
  • Build and enhance AI-powered knowledge resources, support tools and self-service solutions.
  • Monitor data accuracy and investigate exceptions requiring corrective action.
  • Produce user guidance, FAQs and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the development of digital solutions supporting Oracle Fusion adoption.
  • Work with stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, HR and Operations to resolve data-related queries.
  • Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, user experience and service delivery.

About you

You'll be someone who enjoys working with information, solving problems and finding practical ways to make processes more effective.

We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Experience supporting process improvement, business change or operational enhancement activities.
  • Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • An understanding of data quality and governance principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to work across different teams.
  • A willingness to learn new systems, tools and technologies.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience using Power Automate, Power BI or Microsoft Copilot.
  • Knowledge of Inventory, Supply Chain, Procurement or Materials Management processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, such as Oracle or SAP.
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management practices.
  • Experience designing digital forms, workflows or self-service tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience within a large, complex or multi-site organisation.

Why join Arriva?

As part of our Finance Shared Services function, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of business processes and stakeholders while supporting projects that have a direct impact on operational performance. You'll have the opportunity to work with emerging technologies, develop valuable data and systems expertise, and contribute to an important business transformation programme.

If you're looking for a role where you can apply analytical thinking, develop new skills and help improve how critical business information is managed, we'd love to hear from you.
