Job Description

We are seeking a contract Data Analyst who combines strong SQL and dashboarding capabilities with business analysis, requirements documentation, and semantic knowledge writing. This role will turn business questions into clear analytical outputs, maintain stakeholder-facing reporting, document requirements in JIRA, and create metric and business knowledge documentation that improves shared understanding and reporting quality.

 

The ideal candidate can quickly understand business context, investigate data questions independently, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and produce actionable analysis with minimal ramp time.

 

Enterprise experience strongly preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

* Analyze data using SQL to identify trends, opportunities, anomalies, and business issues.

* Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports for stakeholders.

* Gather, refine, and document requirements through JIRA stories, acceptance criteria, and analyst workflows.

* Translate business needs and questions into structured analysis plans and measurable outputs.

* Create and maintain semantic definitions, metric logic, business glossary content, and knowledge documentation.

* Validate data quality and investigate mismatches across systems, dashboards, and reporting layers.

* Present findings through clear summaries, visualizations, and recommendations.

* Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to improve reporting clarity and shared data understanding.

* Bridge business and technical teams by translating stakeholder needs into clear analytical and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

 

* 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics.

* Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.

* Experience building dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, or a similar BI platform.

* Experience documenting JIRA requirements, user stories, or acceptance criteria.

* Strong business understanding and stakeholder communication skills.

* Strong writing skills for semantic definitions, metric logic, or knowledge documentation.

* Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving ability.

* Ability to quickly understand business context and data questions.

* Ability to produce clear, actionable analysis with minimal ramp time.

* Ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively.

 

Nice-to-Have Skills

 

* Experience with semantic layers, KPI frameworks, or data modeling concepts.

* Familiarity with Agile delivery environments.

* Experience partnering across technical and non-technical teams.
