Position Overview:
This is a vacancy for a hybrid or on-site role at our HQ in Tutzing (South of Munich). We encourage applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of gender identity.
We’re seeking a Technical Writer to elevate and reshape our product documentation. You’ll write high-quality, persona-based documentation, modernise our existing knowledge base, and help define the standards and structure of our docs. The role is part of the Customer Education team within the Product organisation, which works closely with Product Management and other departments - ensuring strong strategic alignment and that you’re not operating in isolation.
Ready to make an impact? You’ll get to take ownership of:
- You create clear, accurate guides, concepts, and reference docs tailored to defined reader personas, from conceptual overviews to detailed how-tos.
- You audit, re-structure, and refresh the existing documentation to align with merged product lines, current terminology, and the future information architecture.
- You work iteratively by starting with core content and enriching it as features mature, documenting a product that is actively developed with a structured approach.
- You partner with Product Managers as primary stakeholders and coordinate with Engineering, Academy/Customer Education, and Sales to gather inputs and close feedback loops.
- You channel input from field teams and users to improve clarity and completeness, and you help decide what belongs in Docs versus Academy versus Community.
- You contribute to glossary, terminology, and style guidelines, ensuring consistency across German and English with support from our English proofreader.
- You produce enablement materials such as conceptual diagrams, release and feature notes, and short tutorials that connect features to practical outcomes.
- You translate feature inputs like videos and PM specifications into user-facing documentation that is easy to follow and technically sound.
What will you learn during your apprenticeship?:
We’d love to meet someone with:
- You have experience documenting enterprise software (e.g., ERP, SaaS, middleware, integrations) and ideally exposure to EDI, supply chain, or integration topics.
- You have a proven track record in structured, persona-based documentation for complex products and can choose appropriately between concept, how-to, and reference formats.
- You work with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset; you’re comfortable clarifying open questions with stakeholders and moving forward methodically.
- You bring information architecture skills, including auditing, re-structuring, and standardizing large doc sets, as well as defining navigation, taxonomy, and cross-references.
- You demonstrate strong interviewing skills with SMEs, proactively engage stakeholders, and thrive in cross-functional teams.
- You show strong learning agility and curiosity, continuously building product knowledge and connecting features to real user needs.
- You write excellent German (native or near-native preferred) and strong English, we publish in both languages and provide support for final English polish.
We’d love to hear from you:
You can look forward to:
- Opportunity to work flexibly from home
- Modern offices in Germany and the Netherlands
- A personal Learning & Development budget
- Up to 30 days of remote work per year from any EU country
- Company Pension plan
- 30 vacation days a year
- 2 additional paid days off on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
- Location-specific benefits packages (your recruiter will be happy to provide more details during your first chat)
- Company-sponsored business travel
For this role, we are open to working with specialists based in Germany or the Netherlands. Whether you prefer working on-site at our offices in Tutzing, Amsterdam, or remotely from a location within one of these countries, we’re happy to accommodate your preferred working style.
