Senior HVAC Construction Project Manager

Position Summary

Haven Services is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.

This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, scheduling, and managing multiple HVAC construction projects while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive commercial HVAC construction experience, strong leadership skills, excellent client relationship management, and a proven ability to lead field teams and subcontractors.

Requirements

Project Management

  • Manage multiple commercial HVAC construction projects simultaneously.
  • Lead projects from kickoff through final completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Coordinate manpower, subcontractors, vendors, and equipment.
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure schedule adherence.
  • Lead project meetings with clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure successful project closeout.

Construction Coordination

  • Review mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate HVAC installation with plumbing, electrical, architectural, and structural trades.
  • Resolve field conflicts and design issues.
  • Conduct regular site inspections.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Coordinate commissioning and startup activities.

Budget & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Monitor labor productivity and job costs.
  • Forecast project financial performance.
  • Review purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
  • Approve invoices.
  • Manage billing and project cash flow.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities.

Client Relations

  • Serve as the primary customer contact.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors.
  • Attend project meetings.
  • Communicate project progress and resolve client concerns promptly.

Leadership

  • Provide leadership to field superintendents, foremen, and project engineers.
  • Mentor junior project managers and coordinators.
  • Promote teamwork between office and field personnel.
  • Support recruiting and workforce planning.

Safety & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety.
  • Conduct jobsite safety reviews.
  • Ensure installations meet company quality standards.
  • Coordinate inspections and punch-list completion.

Required

  • 5+years of commercial HVAC project management experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems.
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $250,000 to $10M+.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with subcontractor coordination.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Mechanical Engineering background.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience with Design-Build delivery.
  • Experience with healthcare, education, manufacturing, and commercial facilities.
