Position Overview

We are seeking a Product Manager, Data & Analytics to treat internal reporting and analytics as a product with real customers: operations, marketing, finance, and the leadership team. A substantial Power BI footprint carries that weight today, and it has taken us a long way — but the next stage of our growth deserves a deliberate decision about what our analytics platform should become, and that decision has not been made yet.

You will keep the current stack healthy and trusted while you build the case for what comes next — and then you will lead the execution, not hand off a slide deck. You will also stand up real product and customer-journey analytics, partnering with Engineering to instrument our digital products so we can answer funnel, retention, and behavior questions without a data engineering ticket every time.

If you want clean greenfield, this is not it. If you want to own the decision that sets how a whole company measures itself, it is.

You will lead a dedicated, long-tenured nearshore pod of engineers and analysts rather than a rotating bench - real leadership without a large org chart, where your judgment is spent on the product and the people who depend on it.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Current Power BI Stack

  • Own the existing reporting portfolio end to end: what exists, who uses it, what it costs, what it is trusted for, and where it has drifted.
  • Take control of the request queue. Establish intake, prioritization, and — critically — a sunset process for reports that are not earning their keep.
  • Own the reliability basics: refresh health, data freshness expectations, workspace and access hygiene, and clear metric definitions people can point to.
  • Keep stakeholders confident through a transition. Nothing about a future migration excuses today's numbers being late or wrong.

Define the Vision for What Comes Next

  • Lead the evaluation: BI and semantic layer, warehouse and modeling approach, product analytics, embedded or customer-facing reporting, and where AI-assisted querying genuinely helps versus where it is a demo.
  • Build the recommendation — architecture, vendors, cost, migration path, risks, and what we stop doing — and get it approved.
  • Define the metric layer that outlives any tool choice: canonical definitions, named owners, and a source of truth people trust more than their own spreadsheet.

Product Analytics and Instrumentation

  • Stand up real product and customer-journey analytics. Design the event taxonomy and tracking plan, then hold the line on it as new surfaces ship.
  • Partner with Engineering to instrument our digital products so we can answer funnel, retention, and behavior questions without a data engineering ticket every time.

Execution

  • Run the roadmap: discovery with real users, written specs, prioritization you can defend, and delivery in increments that ship value along the way.
  • Work directly with data engineering, analysts, and application engineers as a partner who writes clear requirements and makes tradeoffs — not a ticket router.
  • Manage the migration as a program: sequencing, parallel-run periods, validation, cutover, decommissioning, and change management for the many people whose daily habits you are changing.
  • Report on your own impact: adoption, time-to-answer, decisions enabled, and cost per report — not dashboards delivered.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work in office 4+ days a week, in Austin, TX.
  • 5+ years in product management, analytics product management, or analytics and BI leadership where you owned outcomes rather than a queue.
  • Hands-on depth with Power BI: semantic models, DAX, workspaces, gateways, and capacity — enough to audit what we have and diagnose what it needs without needing a translator.
  • SQL you actually use. You can validate a number yourself before you defend it in a meeting.
  • Experience leading a platform evaluation or replacement with real money and real stakeholders attached, and then living with the result.
  • Fluency in modern data architecture: warehouses and lakehouses (Fabric, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks), transformation (dbt or equivalent), ingestion, and semantic layers.
  • Genuine stakeholder skill. You can tell a VP that their favorite report is going away and have them agree with you.
  • Excellent written communication. You write the document before you build the thing.
  • Experience working day to day with distributed or nearshore delivery teams. You write requirements that survive a time-zone gap, and you hold quality without hovering.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward shipping something useful this quarter.

Preferred Experience:

  • Product analytics experience — Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, or similar — is a significant plus. Event-based analytics, funnels, cohorts, and retention analysis in a tool built for behavior, rather than a BI tool bent into the shape of one.
  • Microsoft Fabric experience, or a clear-eyed view of when it is the right answer and when it is not.
  • Multi-site retail, healthcare, or consumer services background. Operational reporting for field teams is its own discipline.
  • Experience with marketing and attribution data, CRM or contact-center data, or revenue and finance reporting.
  • Experience shipping AI or LLM-assisted analytics features that people actually used.
  • Data governance or privacy experience in a regulated environment.

You will be part of a supportive and close-knit team and given the opportunity to perform purposeful work. Removery is proud to offer a competitive salary, based upon experience, in tandem with a competitive benefits package for FT associates including:

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision with HRA option, STD and LTD

  • Flexible Paid Time Off
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Eight (8) company paid holidays
  • 8 hours of paid volunteer time per year
  • 401K with generous Company Match
  • Team Member Referral Bonus Program
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Collaborative work environment with an amazing culture committed to diversity and inclusion.
