Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Food Safety & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct pre-operational, in-process, and post-operational facility inspections.
  • Perform sanitation verification activities, including ATP testing.
  • Monitor sanitation chemical concentrations and dispensing equipment.
  • Ensure employee compliance with GMPs, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and preventive controls.
  • Communicate food safety and quality concerns to management and assist with corrective actions.
  • Perform thermometer calibrations, temperature monitoring, and investigate deviations.
  • Collect environmental, water, product, and raw material samples using proper sampling procedures.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Issue product hold and release notifications.
  • Conduct glass, scale, and pest control inspections.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, logs, and documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels of QA supplies and testing materials.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in refrigerated production environments (34°F to 40°F) for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements.
  • Ability to operate standard office and testing equipment.
  • Frequent use of vision, hearing, and verbal communication.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-Time position requiring open availability.
  • Scheduled days off: Thursday and Friday.
  • Shift start times may include 3:30 AM, 6:00 AM, or 8:00 AM.
  • Most shifts are 8 hours in length.
  • Employees assigned to the 8:00 AM shift must work until production is complete.
  • Overtime, weekends, holidays, and additional hours may be required based on operational needs.
  • Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour
  • Overtime Pay: $31.50 per hour (1.5x regular hourly rate)

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
