Role Purpose
The Business Analyst supports business transformation by understanding client needs, defining current and future-state processes, documenting requirements, and translating outcomes into delivery artefacts. The role connects business, technology, product, QA, data, and project teams to ensure solutions deliver measurable value.
The role requires an Agile mindset, consulting discipline, and the ability to operate across complex environments throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation and scoping to requirements, design, testing, UAT, change, and continuous improvement.
Job Description
The Business Analyst works with EY clients and delivery teams to analyse business challenges, facilitate workshops, document requirements, map processes, and support fit-for-purpose solution design. The role includes user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability, backlog refinement, and alignment to business priorities.
The Business Analyst also supports project scoping, business cases, planning, risk and dependency management, and delivery of agreed outcomes.
In EY Consulting, the role requires professional client engagement, clear communication of business and technology value, and effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering and Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate workshops and interviews to capture client needs and detailed requirements.
- Document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Align requirements to objectives, success criteria, and measurable outcomes.
- Build relationships across business, technology, data, QA, product, and project teams.
2. Process Mapping and Business Design
- Document current and future-state operating models across people, process, technology, and data.
- Identify gaps, pain points, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Use visual models to show scope, interfaces, data flows, processes, and dependencies.
- Translate business requirements into practical target-state designs.
3. User Story Generation and Agile Delivery
- Create clear user stories from the user’s perspective.
- Define acceptance criteria, scenarios, and supporting requirements.
- Support backlog refinement, prioritisation, and business alignment.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies with product, delivery, technical, QA, and business teams.
- Promote MVP thinking, iterative delivery, and continuous improvement.
4. Project Management and Delivery Support
- Support business cases, scoping, planning, and definition of objectives, deliverables, and requirements.
- Work with project and delivery teams to ensure feasible, timely, business-aligned solutions.
- Support large-scale digital transformation and technology implementation programmes.
6. Testing and Quality Support
- Create test scope, scenarios, cases, expected outcomes, and success criteria.
- Work with QA and development teams to validate requirements.
- Support UAT, training, change enablement, and continuous improvement.
7. Consulting, Client and Team Contribution
- Support scoping, shaping, and delivery of digital transformation engagements.
- Communicate business and technology concepts clearly to varied audiences.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to continuous learning and improvement.
Required Experience
The ideal candidate has approximately 4 years business analysis experience in consulting, financial services, digital transformation, technology implementation, or similarly complex delivery environments.
Preferred experience includes:
- Business analysis experience in Agile environments.
- Experience facilitating workshops and translating needs into requirements.
- Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, process maps, and requirements documentation.
- Full project lifecycle experience from initiation to implementation and improvement.
- Experience with data projects, dashboards, reporting, data quality, or analytics.
- Experience in dynamic, cross-functional stakeholder environments.
- Consulting experience on large-scale technology or transformation programmes.

- Requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation, and management.

- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CE and Power Platforms is preferred.
