About the Role

This is a craft-first product design role at a fast-growing AI learning platform used by tens of millions of students worldwide. You will own entire product areas end to end, working closely with engineering and senior leadership to ship experiences that raise the bar on quality in consumer education.

What You'll Do

  • Own product areas from conception to delivery, collaborating directly with engineering and leadership to ship to millions of users quickly.
  • Raise the quality of every visual and interactive detail students encounter, combining UI excellence with motion design.
  • Build and scale a design system from the ground up, creating components and review processes that make quality easy to replicate.
  • Pioneer AI-native design by developing AI-assisted workflows and product experiences that change how the team researches, ideates, and ships.
  • Set the reference standard for UI quality, making your work the benchmark the broader team aspires to.
  • Help guide more junior designers and contribute to raising the team's overall craft.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating shipped B2C or consumer product design work that moved metrics and delighted real users; portfolio matters more than years of experience.
  • Several years of product design experience with the ability to mentor more junior teammates.
  • Meaningful experience in fast-moving startup environments with a strong bias toward shipping over presenting.
  • Active, enthusiastic use of AI tools (prototyping, research, design reviews) as a force multiplier.
  • Systems thinking applied to real products: code-first design systems, scalable components, and AI-powered quality workflows.
  • Ability to simplify complex user journeys into experiences that feel obvious and intuitive.
  • Comfort working in Figma and related prototyping tools; a bonus if you have opened a pull request or shipped a side project end to end.
  • Direct, team-first communication style with no ego about ownership or territory.
  • Genuine curiosity about new tools and patterns, experimenting continuously by instinct.

Location

On-site in Berlin, Germany. This role requires regular in-person presence; fully remote arrangements are not available. Visa sponsorship is not offered.
