Collins Aerospace Pratt & Whitney Engine Systems (PWES) Engineering Partnership Office (EPO) is seeking a highly motivated Engineer II to join our dynamic team at the Pratt & Whitney West Palm Beach Engine Center. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to play a key role in bridging two important divisions within RTX, with the potential to make a significant impact on both Commercial and Military Engine programs.
As a Engineer II, you will be at the forefront of critical technical support, playing a vital role in the integration of Collins hardware on Pratt & Whitney Engines across global Engine Centers. This customer-facing position offers the chance to engage directly with production, test, and Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul (MRO), addressing complex technical concerns across all Collins Engine Control Systems (ECS) product lines.
Collins Engine Center Support Engineers are the first responders to evaluate failures or product quality issues, define the scope, and drive solutions using data-driven decision-making and CORE process improvement techniques. This role is based on site at the West Palm Beach Engine Center, with potential collaboration directly with P&W, Various airlines across the world, and Collins Program Leadership in Windsor Locks, CT.
What You Will Do
- Represent as on-site engineering focal for Collins Aerospace component issues, hardware investigations or general inquiries at the West Palm Beach Engine Center.
- Direct support activities for Power & Controls - Engine Control Systems (ECS) components as the engines process through production, test and final customer selloff.
- Direct support activities for Power & Controls - Engine Control Systems (ECS) components as they progress through the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) shop.
- Provide technical recommendations to the worldwide Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Network across various functions and disciplines.
- Initiate quality and engineering improvement activities throughout all Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) phases for GTF engines.
- Facilitate the monthly creation and reporting of component removal trends and quality issues to share with the Integrated Program Management Team across multiple disciplines.
- Provide substantiated technical evaluations and disposition for defective components, drawing from both Collins and Pratt & Whitney blueprint requirements and production and field limits.
- Initiate quality/engineering improvement activities across multiple engine programs, working closely with F135 and PW1100.
- Offer technical recommendations for Collins hardware within the Material Review Board (MRB) process throughout the worldwide Engine Center network.
- Support urgent F135 program requests across both West Palm Beach and Middletown Engine Centers as critical issues arise.
- Drive critical investigation actions during high visibility events such as Product Recall efforts and stop delivery orders.
- Use RTX CORE Methods and Tools to drive comprehensive investigations into product non-quality events and support Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) as needed.
- Tactfully represent the Collins Engineering Partnership Office and provide routine status updates to Windsor Locks, CT Program Office and Chief Engineers Office as applicable.
- Facilitate the monthly creation and reporting of component removal trends and quality issues to provide to the IPT Team across multiple functions.
- Research Supplier Specs and Industry Standards to approve or substantiate rework or repair of hardware.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Working knowledge of SAP P10.
- Comprehensive knowledge of component- and engine-level build and test activities is a plus.
- Proven ability to meet customer expectations for responsiveness.
- Experience working in the aerospace industry with Collins Aerospace or Pratt & Whitney.
- Experience applying project, program, and risk management skills.
- Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience managing competing priorities and delivering successful outcomes in critical situations.
- Strong organizational skills and experience tracking multiple customers and their varying needs.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
