Discovery is where a configuration database either earns its keep or quietly stops being true.
You will own discovery engineering for the BMC Helix CMDB at the alliance headquarters in Brussels, as part of a dedicated capacity team.
What you will be doing
- Designing, running and tuning discovery against the estate so the CMDB reflects what is actually there
- Building and maintaining discovery patterns, credentials and schedules
- Reconciling discovered data into the CMDB and resolving the conflicts that reconciliation surfaces
- Investigating gaps between discovered and expected inventory, and closing them
- Reporting on coverage and data quality to the service owners
What you will need
- Hands-on BMC Discovery experience, including pattern work
- Strong CMDB and reconciliation practice
- The patience for data quality work, which is most of what discovery really is
- The professional certifications the requirement asks for, BMC Helix and ITIL among them

- The engagement runs in two phases: a dedicated capacity phase first, then a managed service phase
Practical detail
