Full description

Join Citi's Commodities COO team in Belfast and play a central role in keeping one of the world's leading commodities businesses running effectively. As a Commodities Business Management Analyst, you will sit at the heart of the Commodities business — coordinating across trading desks, business functions, and senior stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency, strategic delivery, and a sound control environment. This is a high-visibility role offering direct exposure to traders, salespeople, and cross-functional teams spanning London, Houston, and Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day operational activities that enable the Commodities business to access brokers, markets, and exchanges, and maintain critical vendor relationships for market data and related services.
  • Identify control and process gaps across the Commodities business and manage the end-to-end closure of those gaps in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the delivery of strategic goals and new business initiatives by helping the business organise around its priorities and maintain forward momentum.
  • Gather, coordinate, and manage evidence for internal audit and compliance requests, ensuring responses are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Contribute to cost management and efficiency initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce spend or streamline processes.
  • Apply and develop AI tools and techniques to improve and automate operational processes across the team.
  • Act as a point of coordination between the Commodities desk and internal functions including Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT, and Operations to resolve issues and represent business needs clearly.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in banking, financial services, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects or operational processes in a structured environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities simultaneously without losing accuracy or attention to detail.
  • Clear and confident communicator, both in writing and in conversation, with the ability to engage stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose the root cause of an issue, assess its wider impact, and coordinate an effective resolution.
  • Collaborative team player who builds effective working relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with financial services, trading operations, or capital markets environments.
  • Exposure to technology platforms or systems used in a trading or banking context.
  • Experience using or exploring AI tools to improve workflows or drive efficiencies.
