Summary:

Provide credit administrative support for business and commercial loan origination and monitoring the existing loan portfolio. Work with loan origination staff in assessing risk and compliance with rules and regulations. Prepare, review, and analyze the creditworthiness of loan requests. Make sound and prudent underwriting decisions and recommendations. Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, regulations, and state and federal laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Obtain information from commercial lenders and work in tandem to verify receipt of all appropriate financial information and documentation.
  • Spread and analyze financial statements of potential business borrowers and existing borrowers. Prepare projected cash flow statements, break-even analysis, ratio comparisons, income property analysis, etc.
  • Compile questions about potential borrower and credit report for loan coordinator.
  • Must be able to interpret ambiguous and complex data using independent judgment and discretion.
  • Determine terms and acceptability of risk according to prudent lending standards, policy, and guidelines. Document and articulate credit decisions.
  • Prepare addendum to loan coordinator’s write up as to financial analysis. Review documentation and all pertinent financial information as to support loan amount requested.
  • Assign or recommend accurate risk ratings loan grades.
  • Exercise sound judgment in the execution of loan approval authority for business and commercial loans. Make credit decisions within assigned authority limits or recommendations for loans escalated to higher authority levels.
  • May serve as backup support for commercial construction loan disbursements.
  • Make presentations to loan committee(s) as Make amendments and additions to credit memorandums as needed.
  • Ensure that business and commercial loans are underwritten in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as internal guidelines and procedures.
  • Monitor receipt of on-going financial information of existing borrowers and update write-ups with current information.
  • Perform annual credit reviews and collateral inspections.
  • Perform appraisal, environmental reports, insurance and title policy reviews.
  • Assist in preparation and review of Commitment Issue loan commitments in accordance with loan approval conditions.
  • Review and analyze subsequent servicing requests (collateral releases, substitutions, subordinations, etc.).
  • Maintain consistency in documentation and cash flow projections on credit facilities.
  • Assist in credit training for staff and credit administration.
  • Coordinate and assist with projects as requested.
  • Notating and reporting to loan officers incomplete or inaccurate financial statements submitted for analysis.
  • Assist in development, implementation, and testing of new products and software.
  • Identify and manage risks within the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
