Summary

This is a hybrid position requiring both in-office work at our NYC office and remote work. As a Senior Analyst on the Strategic Finance team, you will be a key contributor to GeneDx's financial planning and decision-making infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Strategic Finance, you will build and maintain the financial models and reporting that power our operating mechanism — from monthly business reviews to annual operating plan. You will support cross-functional business partnership and help translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. This role is central to GeneDx's 2026 priorities: building a high-integrity operating mechanism, supporting product and partnership growth, and enabling data-driven decisions at scale.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support core financial planning processes: Build and maintain models supporting the financial planning cycle, including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), monthly/quarterly forecasting, and the new monthly business review cadence.
  • Maintain the rolling financial model: Partner across the broader Finance team to own and update elements of the long-range financial model, harmonizing inputs from across the business and supporting scenario analysis in near- and long-term planning processes.
  • Reporting & analysis: Produce recurring financial reporting packages and develop the substantive monthly business review with financial and operational drivers. Synthesize data into clear narratives for internal stakeholders. Surface new KPIs and metrics that are critical to driving the performance of the business.
  • Finance business partnership: Support finance business partnership across the organization, providing analytical support for business case development, investment decisions, and cross-functional planning requests.
  • Business case development: Build financial models for new product introductions, partnerships, and strategic initiatives
  • Deliver insight at scale: Effectively use tools like AI to improve and automate FP&A processes, systems and reporting to deliver more insight per unit of time invested

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, STEM or a related field required
  • 2–4 years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, investment banking, or consulting or similarly analytical role
  • Financial modeling: Strong ability to build and maintain multi-driver financial models; experience with 3-statement modeling a plus
  • Analytical rigor: Comfort working with large datasets, identifying trends, and translating numbers into clear business narratives
  • Business acumen: Working knowledge of key operational and financial value drivers; ability to clearly communicate cause and effect relationships to non-financial audiences
  • Collaboration: Able to work cross-functionally and communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance partners

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position requiring both in-office and remote work. The employee will work from our office location in New York, NY and remotely from a home office or other suitable location with reliable high-speed internet access. In-office work is performed in a professional office setting with standard lighting, temperature control, and low to moderate noise levels. Remote work is performed in a climate-controlled environment. Standard office equipment including computer, phone, and video conferencing tools are used in both settings. Your standard work schedule and hours will be established in collaboration with your leader and may be adjusted to align with evolving business needs.
