Project Manager / Engineer

Rosslyn, South Africa

Overview:

SC Johnson is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Project Manager / Engineer for a 1-year fixed-term contract at our Rosslyn manufacturing site. Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, this role will support the execution of capital projects, process improvements, and new product development initiatives. The successful candidate will also play a key role in managing and implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) to support operational excellence and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all engineering activities are conducted in compliance with SC Johnson’s safety policies and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and execute capital and process improvement projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety) and external vendors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of engineering standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical input and feasibility assessments for new product development (NPD) projects, including equipment selection and cost estimation.
  • Lead or support the implementation of CAPAs, ensuring timely resolution of issues and sustainable improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project records, reports, and documentation in line with global engineering requirements.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • 3–5 years of engineering and project management experience, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
  • Experience with aerosol manufacturing is advantageous.
