JOIN OUR TEAM
BetWarrior is a next-generation digital gaming company with a bold mission: to redefine the way people experience sports betting and casino entertainment across Latin America.
With a dynamic and diverse team, deep market insights, and cutting-edge technology, we're creating an experience that is personalized, responsible, and always player-first.
Great people, bold ideas, and a sharp focus on user experience set us apart.
About the role
We're looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to own and scale our end-to-end automation suite for web and Android. This is a foundational hire for our automation strategy: you'll be the technical reference for the framework, define the standards the team will build on, and drive our regression suite from today's early-stage coverage toward full CI/CD-integrated automation. You'll work side by side with the QA Leader and the development teams, and will directly shape how the next Automation Engineer we hire works.
In this role, you'll
- Own, evolve, and harden the automation framework (Playwright for web, Appium + WebDriverIO for Android), building on the existing base and structuring it following the Page Object Model.
- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end automated tests as part of our release cycles.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (ideally Jenkins), including triggering, reporting, and gating releases on test results.
- Define the automated regression strategy: select and prioritize critical flows to cover, and set the roadmap to grow coverage toward our target of 80% of the regression suite automated.
- Set the technical standards and best practices (selectors, config management, environment variables, folder structure) that future team members will follow.
- Analyze test run results, identify false positives, report bugs with clear evidence, and follow up until resolution.
- Work with Git in a collaborative branching workflow (pull requests, test code reviews).
- Document test cases, technical decisions, and framework best practices.
- Collaborate closely with QA and Development to embed automation early in the delivery lifecycle and ensure smooth, consistent player experiences across devices.
- Provide clear, ongoing reporting on automation progress, coverage milestones, and risks to stakeholders.
- Estimate and deliver assigned work reliably and to a high standard.
What we look for in an exceptional candidate
- 5+ years of experience in QA, with at least 3 years focused specifically on test automation (not manual testing with occasional automation exposure).
- Solid, hands-on experience with JavaScript — our automation project is entirely in JS.
- Proven experience writing and maintaining web tests with Playwright.
- Experience with mobile automation on Android using Appium + WebDriverIO.
- Strong experience structuring automation frameworks with the Page Object Model.
- Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar) — this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- Fluent with Git: version control, branching strategies, and collaborative workflows (PRs, code review).
- Strong command of web selectors (XPath, getByRole, getByText) and criteria for choosing robust, low-maintenance selectors.
- Experience managing environment variables and configuration across multiple environments.
- Comfortable defining test strategy and coverage priorities, not just executing an existing plan.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and set technical direction for others to follow.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.
Bonus points if you also have
- Basic Android knowledge: ADB, emulators, installing and managing APKs.
- Experience with non-functional/API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
- Familiarity with Zephyr, X-Ray, or similar JIRA test-management plugins, plus Jira and Confluence.
- Prior experience in the gaming, betting, or fintech industry.
- Experience mentoring or setting standards for other QA/automation engineers.
