We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

Role purpose : Lead the engineering and administration of HSBC’s visualisation platforms—Looker (self-managed), Qlik Sense Enterprise, and Apache Superset—ensuring they’re secure, resilient, performant, and easy for teams to use. Build automation on GCP using Terraform and Jenkins CI/CD, and deliver broader Python/API engineering to integrate data and services. Apply AI conversation analytics to generate actionable insights and improve customer/colleague experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Own platform reliability, upgrades/patching, capacity planning, DR readiness, observability, and operational controls across Looker, Qlik Sense Enterprise, and Superset.

• Define and enforce access and governance: SSO/RBAC, security rules/roles, content standards, environment promotion (dev/test/prod), auditability.

• Build and operate GCP infrastructure using Terraform (IAM, networking, secrets, logging/monitoring) with reusable modules and safe change practices.

• Implement Jenkins pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery (not limited to visualisation), including quality gates, approvals, and rollback/runbooks.

• Design and deliver APIs and integrations across the data/analytics ecosystem (service-to-service auth, throttling, logging, documentation), using vendor APIs where needed (Looker/Qlik/Superset) plus internal APIs.

• Develop Python solutions for automation and services beyond BI tooling—e.g., provisioning, metadata/usage reporting, orchestration utilities, operational health checks, and integration services.

• Deliver AI conversation analytics capabilities (e.g., speech-to-text/NLP pipelines, topic/intent modelling, sentiment drivers, QA/compliance insights, agent coaching metrics) and make outputs consumable via dashboards/APIs with measurable business impact.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on administration/engineering for Looker (self-managed), Qlik Sense Enterprise, and Apache Superset (or strong experience in two with rapid ramp-up on the third).

• Strong GCP, Terraform, and Jenkins CI/CD experience delivering production-grade platforms and services.

• Strong Python engineering and API design/integration experience beyond visualisation tooling (REST, auth/service accounts, logging/monitoring, operational resilience).

• Experience delivering AI conversation analytics (NLP, transcription, classification, insight extraction) and operationalising outputs responsibly (privacy, security, governance).

• Proven operational excellence: incident/RCA, performance tuning, documentation, and governance controls.
