Job Description
We are looking for a Snowflake Data Engineer to help build robust data pipelines, optimize data warehouse performance, and develop business-ready data models and marts. This position will be Full-time and Onsite – Gurugram.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation layers within Snowflake
- Design and develop Snowflake objects including tables, views, stages, tasks, streams, and stored procedures
- Apply Snowflake best practices for warehouse sizing, clustering, caching, and query optimization
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and availability across the warehouse layers
- Support performance tuning and scalability improvements as data volumes grow
- Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT jobs and transformations using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle) for loading data into Snowflake
- Configure and manage AWS DMS tasks for Full Load and CDC-based data ingestion into Snowflake
- Build ingestion pipelines for API-based sources including JSON parsing and semi-structured data processing
- Handle ingestion from flat files and JSON files through Snowflake external stages and COPY commands
- Monitor pipeline health, resolve replication lag, and maintain ingestion SLAs
- Design data models using Star Schema and Fact/Dimension structures aligned to business reporting needs
- Build and maintain business-ready data marts for consumption by Spotfire and downstream applications
- Collaborate with analytics and BI teams to understand data requirements and deliver optimized datasets
- Document data models, lineage, and mart structures for ongoing maintenance and onboarding
- Use AWS S3 for staging raw data files as part of the ingestion workflow
- Configure IAM roles and policies to manage access between AWS services and Snowflake
- Use AWS Lambda for lightweight data transformation or pipeline trigger automation where applicable
What You'll Need
Required:
- Proven 3-4 Yrs of experience in Snowflake development and optimization
- Strong expertise in ETL/ELT pipeline design and development using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle)
- Hands-on experience with AWS DMS and AWS services including S3, Lambda, and IAM policies
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts including Star Schema and Fact/Dimension structures
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Spotfire for BI and analytics
- Experience with API-based data ingestion and JSON processing
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
