QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Project Management, or a related field. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or similar advanced project management certification.

Experience:

  • Required: 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a significant portion in the healthcare, biotechnology, or genetics industry.
  • Preferred: Extensive experience managing high-priority, cross-functional projects and leading project teams. Demonstrated success in strategic project delivery and process improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership and Vision: Play a pivotal role in guiding Baylor Genetics' transformation from a genetics company to a leading technology-driven organization. Develop and implement strategic project initiatives that align with the company’s long-term goals and objectives.
  • Project Ownership and Leadership: Lead and oversee multiple high-priority, cross-functional projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategic objectives.
  • Smartsheet Management: Own and maintain Smartsheet for project tracking, including setting up project plans, timelines, and task assignments. Ensure data accuracy and timely updates in Smartsheet.​
  • Reporting and Communication: Execute team operating mechanisms, highlighting progress, risks, and issues. Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders to ensure project alignment. ​
  • Develop and manage a project portfolio, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and priorities.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project delivery and efficiency. Collaborate with teams to streamline workflows and optimize resource utilization.​
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and establish project priorities. Maintain strong relationships and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.​
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics’ Compliance Program.

Additional Duties may include:

  • Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior project managers and project team members.
  • Foster a high-performance culture within the project management team, promoting professional development and continuous learning.
  • Serve as a liaison between Leadership team and CEO or COS.
  • Meet with Senior Leadership to gather requirements for high visibility projects.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis.
