A presence in India provides an opportunity for Orion Group to strengthen the business relationship with the current partners and support the head quarter in various office activities. The India office focuses mainly on Global Operations and R & D activities.

Global Operations is one of the core areas of operations in Orion's India office. This office is involved in procurement of in-licensed formulated products and pharmaceutical ingredients for in-house manufacturing in Finland.

The Packaging Technology team is involved in creating and managing artworks for both in-licensed and in-house manufactured products. The Quality assurance team is involved in auditing our partners globally for ensuring cGMP compliance. CPD & LCM India (Pharmaceuticals and Regulatory Affairs teams) supports the product life cycle management, maintenance of marketing authorizations, various other documentation requirements and supports activities such as biostatistics, programming and medical writing tasks for regulated markets. The Creative Design team in India supports digital / graphic designing activities.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Manage India sites IT infrastructure and device lifecycle management aligned with standard global IT infrastructure guidelines.
  • Handle network, server, printer, projector, CCTV, and other corporate IT device installations and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain strict device, software, and information security compliance based on Company and Country specific regulations.
  • Timely and efficient resolution of Resolve incidents/service requests via the internal ServiceDesk ticketing system and handle necessary escalations.
  • Manage local IT inventory, software licensing, data backups to data centres/cloud systems, and corporate E-waste.
  • Manage local IT device procurement, vendor negotiations, purchase order creation, and invoicing.
  • Design, maintain, and upgrade advanced Excel data trackers and reports used for local department tracking.
  • Identify repetitive, manual workflows and introduce basic automated solutions (such as macros, power queries, or low-code scripts) to save operational hours.
  • Apply company licensed AI tools and intelligent applications to optimize standard daily documentation, information lookups, and operational tasks.
  • Provide basic guidance and simple training to India site team members on how to adopt internal tech tools and productivity software safely and efficiently.
  • Actively analyze operational bottlenecks and take the initiative to pitch creative tech ideas and process fixes rather than waiting for structural instruction.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional local business units and global HQ IT leads to present project updates and implementation statuses.
  • Provide basic onboarding information to new joiners.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in working with Microsoft Excel (formulas, dynamic data sets, conditional formatting, and data reporting structures).
  • Strong familiarity or hands-on capability with modern low-code automation tools (like Power Automate or scripting) to build workflows.
  • Practical competency in utilizing prompt engineering, corporate AI tools, and predictive workflows to accelerate operational tasks, document synthesis, and daily productivity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Capable of translating technical parameters into clear business terms when training users or presenting statuses to management.
  • A naturally inquisitive nature toward evolving technology trends. Demonstrated ability to proactively diagnose systemic problems and rapidly draft alternative technical suggestions for the team.
  • Experience: 2–3 years of professional experience in Information Technology or a related systems support capacity.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructures (Azure/O365 systems), hardware endpoint systems, and standard networking diagnostic practices.
  • High flexibility to collaborate across multiple time zones and handle shifting priorities in a deadline-driven corporate landscape.

Education

  • Any IT graduate or equivalent (Preferred majors include Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent technical engineering degrees).
