He aha koe ka aroha ai ki a Clarus (Why you'll love Clarus)

At Clarus you’re part of the team of talented specialists helping safely deliver the vital energy New Zealand needs to thrive today and in the future. From starting out in Taranaki our Firstgas, Rockgas, Firstlight Network, Firstlight Renewables, Flexgas and Gas Service NZ operations now span the length and breadth of Aotearoa — so you’re never far away from our good energy. Clarus is investing in opportunities to develop greener alternatives to natural gas and LPG - like partnering with Ecogas to deliver New Zealand’s first renewable biomethane project, and working with other gas distributors to trial hydrogen blending.  We care about the communities where we live and work and are guided by principles of inclusiveness, kaitiakitanga and excellence.

Job Description

He mea whakamiharo koe Senior Business Analyst? (Are you an amazing Senior Business Analyst?)

We’re looking for a talented professional to help us keep the  good energy flowing.

As our Senior Business Analyst, you'll lead discovery, analysis and solution design activities across complex technology initiatives. You'll work closely with business and technology teams to understand current environments, identify impacts, define requirements, and ensure solutions are practical, supportable and aligned to operational needs.

This is not a traditional process-focused BA role. You'll enjoy getting into the detail of systems, integrations, data flows, legacy platforms and operational impacts while maintaining a strong focus on business outcomes.

You'll be involved in:

  • Leading discovery and analysis across complex systems, applications, integrations and data environments.
  • Defining business, technical, data and non-functional requirements.
  • Assessing operational impacts, risks, dependencies and readiness requirements.
  • Supporting testing, validation and acceptance activities.
  • Facilitating conversations between business leaders, subject matter experts, architects, developers, testers and vendors.
  • Helping shape implementation, readiness and change activities.
  • Providing leadership, mentoring and coaching to other Business Analysts and team members.

This role can be based at our Bell Block or Hamilton offices (with the ability to work from home a couple of days per week).

Qualifications

He aha tāu e kawe mai  (What you will bring)

Along with your relevant qualifications, we're looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability with excellent relationship-building skills.

You'll likely have:

  • 7+ years experience as a Business Analyst in complex technology environments.
  • Strong technical and data analysis capability.
  • Experience working with integrations, data migration, reporting or legacy system environments.
  • The ability to translate complex technical information into practical business outcomes.
  • Excellent facilitation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching others and helping build capability within teams.
  • A collaborative approach and comfort working through ambiguity and complexity.

Additional Information

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou  (What’s In It For You)

You’ll be valued for who you are, rewarded for what you do and supported to thrive. We’ll sweeten your (already nicely competitive) salary with a host of extra benefits including [an STI opportunity], additional leave entitlements, flexible working arrangements and free insurances and health checks. We’ll fuel your professional development, keep you at the top of your game and help you build the career you want. Our award-winning wellness programme recognises you’re more than the job you do and supports you with initiatives like an annual wellness grant and access to professional wellbeing services for you and your whānau. You’ll get to work in a safe, healthy environment, supported by great people who want to see you succeed.
