About the team

As a member of the Financial Planning & Analysis team reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Financial Analyst Co-op will be the preparer of recurring internal deliverables and support and execute analysis required for governance reporting as a publicly traded company. Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and results driven critical thinker who is willing to learn and be a proactive team player.

Location

HYBRID/REMOTE: If in Ottawa or Toronto, you must be in the office at least three days a week.Other Canadian Locations – Remote

Term Duration

This is a full-time, 8, or 12-month position, starting January 2027

Co-op / Intern Eligibility

This position is open to co-ops and interns. To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in full-time education or be a recent/upcoming graduate within 12 months of the placement end date.

Compensation range

$19.46- $28.55 hourly rate. The final offer within this range will reflect the candidate’s skills, year of education, and experience.

What you will do

  • Data extraction and analysis to develop, prepare and present financial data that is timely, accurate, and reliable
  • Provide financial recommendations based on prepared analysis that is relevant for effective business decision making
  • Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for functional groups by collaborating with other key stakeholders and collecting and consolidating data from relevant areas
  • Deeply understand the nature of the functional group you are supporting; Support their evolving business needs through financial analysis by understanding and modeling key drivers and metrics.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting deliverables that clearly communicate actual performance vs. budget and key metrics.
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partner team to provide consistent communication of objectives and adjustments to the forecast
  • May perform additional ad-hoc projects or provide support to other teams within Finance upon request

What we are looking for

  • Currently enrolled in a Commerce or Business program with a specialization/major in Accounting or Finance
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Things that would definitely help

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Any accounting, finance, or audit related work experience
  • Any knowledge of IFRS accounting principles
  • Strong business acumen and experience in financial modeling
