Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with deep expertise in global payments, card acquiring, banking, issuance, merchant onboarding, fraud, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have experience building products within complex payment ecosystems and will be comfortable working across acquiring, issuing, banking, compliance, risk, and engineering teams.

This role requires a technically strong product leader who can engage deeply with engineering teams, understand payment infrastructure, APIs, integrations, data flows, risk systems, and make informed product decisions in highly regulated environments.

Must-Have Experience

Global Payments Expertise

  • Strong understanding of the global payments ecosystem, including:
  • Card acquiring
  • Card issuing
  • Payment processing
  • Banking infrastructure
  • Merchant services
  • Payment gateways
  • Card network operations (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.)
  • Experience shipping products across multiple regions such as North America, Europe, APAC, or LATAM.
  • Understanding of regional payment regulations, compliance requirements, and market-specific onboarding requirements.

Card Acquiring & Merchant Lifecycle

  • Proven experience working within acquiring platforms, merchant acquiring, payment facilitators (PayFac), or merchant services organizations.
  • Deep understanding of:
  • Merchant onboarding
  • Underwriting
  • KYB/KYC
  • Merchant activation
  • Transaction monitoring
  • Chargeback and dispute management
  • Experience supporting enterprise merchants, SMBs, and marketplace sellers.

Banking & Issuance

  • Strong knowledge of banking products and financial services infrastructure.
  • Experience working on card issuance programs, banking integrations, ledger systems, settlement, reconciliation, or related financial products.
  • Understanding of issuer-acquirer interactions and transaction lifecycle management.

Technical Product Management

  • Ability to work effectively with engineering teams on highly technical products.
  • Comfortable discussing:
  • APIs and integrations
  • System architecture
  • Payment processing workflows
  • Fraud and risk engines
  • Data models and event flows
  • Platform scalability and reliability
  • Able to translate complex business requirements into detailed product specifications and user stories.
  • Experience working closely with engineering during design reviews, solution discussions, sprint planning, and production launches.

Fraud & Risk Ownership

  • Direct ownership of fraud, risk, and operational metrics, including:
  • Chargeback rates
  • Fraud-to-sales ratio
  • False positive rates
  • Authorization and approval rates
  • Experience with both rule-based fraud systems and machine learning-driven fraud models.
  • Ability to define fraud controls, risk policies, thresholds, and monitoring frameworks.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Has built products in global payments, card acquiring, banking, or issuance environments.
  • Understands how money moves across the ecosystem from merchant to acquirer, card network, issuer, and settlement.
  • Has strong technical depth and credibility with engineering teams.
  • Has direct ownership of onboarding, fraud, risk, and payment-related product outcomes.
  • Operates comfortably in globally distributed organizations and collaborates effectively across multiple time zones.
  • Is highly analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and data-driven.

Requirements

Experience Required

  • 8–10 years of Product Management experience, preferably in FinTech, Payments, Banking, or Financial Services.
  • Proven experience owning and delivering products across payments, card acquiring, merchant onboarding, fraud, risk, banking, or card issuance domains.
  • At least 4–5 years of direct experience working with payment infrastructure, acquiring platforms, merchant services, payment gateways, or financial platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering closely with Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Data Science teams.
  • Experience managing products across global markets, including North America, Europe, and/or APAC regions.
  • Track record of launching and scaling complex platform products in regulated environments.
