Full description

Overview:

The Technology Architecture (TA) team is a core component of our company. Operating in a fast-paced, international, and English-speaking environment, TA defines technology strategy, governs global standards, and evangelizes emerging solutions (APIs, AI/ML, BI, Cloud, etc.).

The Cloud Enterprise Architect provides strategic oversight of all cloud-based solutions across the organization. This role ensures that every technical proposal aligns with corporate architecture standards, risk management policies, and long-term business objectives. Acting as a strategic “gatekeeper”, the role focuses on best-practice compliance and architectural integrity rather than day-to-day coding or infrastructure provisioning.

What will you do?

  • Strategic Leadership & Governance.
  • Strategic Roadmap Execution: Execute the Cloud portfolio roadmap, ensuring all initiatives align with CIB’s business objectives, regulatory mandates, and data sovereignty requirements.
  • Governance & Compliance: Define and enforce architectural guardrails regarding data residency and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, DORA, and local banking laws).
  • Policy Evolution: Define, enforce, and contribute to governance processes, including cloud security standards, Secure Development Lifecycle (SCA, SAST, DAST), compliance checks, and cost management policies.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Monitor the portfolio of internally and externally hosted cloud applications; assess risk, maturity, and drive the migration roadmap for all in-scope applications.
  • Technical Architecture & Advisory.
  • Design Standards: Deliver architectural blueprints, design patterns, and reference frameworks (e.g., Cloud Design Patterns, CI/CD, IaC) to ensure consistency and reusability across development teams.
  • Cloud-Native Guidance: Advise development squads on cloud-native design, API strategy, DevOps practices, data analytics, AI/ML integration, and open-source tooling (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Emerging Technology Validation: Support the validation of emerging technologies by tracking Proofs of Concept (PoCs) with internal teams, external fintech partners, or vendors.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration.
  • Strategic Liaison: Act as the bridge between high-level enterprise strategy and technical design, liaising with business and technology leaders to drive agendas forward.
  • Communication: Report progress, risks, and recommendations to IT and senior business stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and governance forums.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Participate in cross-functional committees (e.g., API governance, AI ethics, internal cloud programs, fintech partnerships) to influence broader technology roadmaps.

What are we looking for?

  • Systems Architecture: Demonstrated expertise in software and systems implementation, including OOP, OOAD, Middleware, Scalability, and Resiliency within distributed systems.
  • Cloud Platforms: Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, migrating, and operating production workloads on one or more major platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or IBM Cloud).
  • Containerization & IaC: Hands-on experience with container orchestration and Infrastructure as Code (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Cloud-Native Design: Proven track record in delivering microservices-driven architectures in cloud environments.
  • Security Integration: Experience embedding Secure Development Lifecycle tools (SCA, SAST, DAST, CSPM) into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Frameworks & Analysis: Proficiency in Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and Risk Management frameworks. Ability to perform Gap Analysis, SWOT analysis, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modelling.
  • Knowledge of IBM Cloud services (IBM Cloud Pak, Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud) or OpenStack.
  • Relevant Professional Certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or TOGAF).
  • Exposure to the Financial Services industry (Banking, Payments, Capital Markets).
  • Knowledge of Data Science principles.
  • English (Read, Spoken, Written) - Mastery.
  • French (nice to have) - Practice.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive insights for non-technical senior management.
  • Autonomy & Proactivity: A self-starter capable of managing multiple workstreams, anticipating risks, and driving continuous improvement with minimal supervision.
  • Collaboration: A strong team player dedicated to mentoring, knowledge sharing, and building cross-functional relationships.
  • Result Orientation: A commitment to delivering measurable outcomes, including cost savings, migration velocity, and enhanced security posture.
  • Cultural Agility: Comfortable operating in a multicultural, multi-location environment with a respect for diversity and inclusion.
  • Ethics: High personal integrity and a strong commitment out corporate values.
