We are looking for an experienced Senior Application Deployment Engineer to support the ICT team in the deployment, integration, maintenance, and monitoring of critical enterprise applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing application environments, coordinating deployments, supporting testing activities, and collaborating with vendors and project teams in an international environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems supporting a large-scale European organization.
For an ongoing client assignment, we are looking for: Senior Application Deployment Engineer /Azure DevOps (freelance)
Your future role:
- Support the ICT team in application build, integration, and deployment activities for both backend systems and client devices (mobile and desktop),
- Support system environment management and configuration,
- Assist project teams during system testing activities,
- Monitor and analyze application and system operations on a daily basis,
- Monitor system health, availability, and performance,
- Report, coordinate, and help resolve technical issues related to application environments,
- Act as the primary technical liaison between ICT teams and external vendors/contractors regarding deployment and environment-related matters,
- Support the deployment and maintenance of development environments in Microsoft Azure,
- Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines,
- Automate application deployments and environment configuration updates,
- Contribute to software release and deployment management processes.
Apply if you have:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience,
- Proven experience managing CI/CD processes for mission-critical, complex enterprise systems,
- Excellent knowledge of software deployment management and good understanding of software release management,
- Strong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting ASP.NET applications hosted on Microsoft IIS,
- Deep understanding of IIS configuration, including Application Pools, Websites and Bindings, SSL Certificates, and Authentication/Authorization mechanisms,
- Practical experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for ASP.NET applications,
- Mandatory hands-on experience with Azure DevOps,
- Strong experience with Git-based version control workflows,
- Experience automating application deployments and environment configuration updates,
- Knowledge of Active Directory integration, Group Policies, service accounts, and Windows security concepts,
- Knowledge of RUP and/or Agile methodologies,
- Knowledge of application servers, development tools, software delivery processes, and relational database management systems (RDBMS),
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to participate in multilingual meetings,
- Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment,
- Previous experience working within European Institutions, international organizations, or the public sector will be considered a strong asset,
- Willingness to engage as a freelancer under a B2B contract model.
