What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Product Development to lead and coordinate product and process engineering operations across our Idaho Falls and Caldwell locations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in equipment design, confident leadership, and the judgment to balance long-term innovation with day-to-day support of current products. You take pride in the quality of the designs your team produces, enjoy mentoring and developing engineering talent, and are comfortable managing budgets, schedules, and multiple concurrent projects.

This role is ideal for someone who pairs strong technical judgment with hands-on leadership, communicates clearly across teams, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Balance improvement of future model planning and standardization with current support to make long-term gains in productivity and innovation
  • Monitor and ensure the quality of drawings and designs produced
  • Mentor, train, and develop team members' skills and capabilities
  • Assist the Director of Projects and Product Development with budgets, costs, production schedules, and project planning
  • Secure tools, equipment, and resources needed for team success
  • Partner with HR and the Director of Engineering and Product Development on recruiting and hiring
  • Stay current on manufacturing technologies and trends, and communicate updates to management
  • Multitask across multiple concurrent projects in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers

Desired Education and Experience

  • Mechanical Engineering degree preferred; equivalent experience gained in the potato processing industry will be considered
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in equipment design or engineering
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD as needed
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with manufactured equipment and the potato processing industry
  • Strong capability and confidence in designs created
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong managerial and leadership ability
  • Positive and confident customer support skills
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated work style
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
