We are seeking a Data Engineer SME to provide strategic leadership and architectural direction for FEMA-wide data engineering initiatives, including enterprise data lakes, AI/ML pipelines, and modernization of data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise data architecture strategy.
- Oversee cloud-native data platform design and governance.
- Provide guidance on high-scale ingestion, streaming, and orchestration.
- Support enterprise data governance councils and cross-agency initiatives.
- Advise leadership on emerging technologies and modernization.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in a related role.
- Expert-level data engineering and cloud data architecture.
- Deep knowledge of compliance frameworks for federal data.
- Ability to influence enterprise-level decision-making.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- AWS/Azure/GCP Data certifications.
Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust. Active Public Trust is preferred. FEMA Public Trust is highly preferred.
