This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product & Business Development Manager based in Australia.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the commercial direction of a growing records and document management business. You will operate at the intersection of product strategy, business development, tenders, partnerships, and pre-sales. The position combines market insight with hands-on ownership of strategic opportunities and product priorities. You will translate customer, regulatory, competitive, and tender requirements into actionable recommendations for Product and R&D teams. A major focus will be developing strategic partnerships with system integrators, technology providers, resellers, and implementation partners. You will also help shape go-to-market strategies, competitive positioning, commercial models, and market expansion initiatives. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced records management professional who thrives in a global, fast-moving environment.

Accountabilities

  • Product & Market Leadership: Act as the commercial product lead for the records management portfolio, representing customer, market, tender, and partner needs internally while maintaining a strong understanding of product capabilities, roadmap priorities, competitive positioning, and product gaps.
  • Translate customer, regulatory, tender, and competitive requirements into structured product requirements and recommendations for Product and R&D teams.
  • Work closely with Product and R&D to prioritize enhancements based on commercial impact, market demand, tender requirements, and competitive opportunities.
  • Maintain product readiness assessments for priority markets and use cases, and develop business cases for major enhancements, integrations, certifications, and market-entry requirements.
  • Tender & RFP Leadership: Lead enterprise and government tender and RFP submissions from opportunity qualification through final submission, including bid/no-bid recommendations based on strategic fit, product readiness, technical requirements, competitive positioning, implementation needs, and commercial potential.
  • Coordinate Sales, Product, R&D, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders throughout complex tender processes to ensure timely and effective submissions.
  • Partnerships & System Integrators: Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with system integrators, implementation partners, technology partners, resellers, and other strategic organizations that can expand market reach.
  • Build partnerships capable of supporting implementation, integration, migration, customization, and tender delivery, while working with regional sales teams to identify partners required for government and enterprise opportunities.
  • Develop joint go-to-market initiatives, partner onboarding and enablement processes, and opportunity-management frameworks, while supporting partners in positioning, demonstrating, implementing, and supporting the product.
  • Track partner-generated pipeline, tender participation, and commercial outcomes to measure partnership performance.
  • Competitive & Market Intelligence: Maintain detailed knowledge of the global Records Management, Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS), Document Management Systems (DMS), and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) markets.
  • Monitor competitors and relevant technology providers, developing and maintaining competitor battlecards covering functionality, architecture, implementation approaches, target markets, customers, partnerships, and commercial positioning.
  • Commercial & Business Development: Collaborate with regional Sales teams to develop and qualify pipeline opportunities, supporting strategic deals from initial qualification through tenders, demonstrations, commercial negotiations, and contract awards.
  • Contribute to pricing, packaging, licensing, implementation, and partner commercial models to support sustainable growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in Records Management, Document Management, EDRMS, ECM, information governance, enterprise software, or a closely related field.
  • Strong practical knowledge of records management principles, including retention and disposition, classification and file plans, legal holds, audit trails, metadata, document lifecycle management, and information governance.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and responding to enterprise or government RFPs and tenders, ideally involving complex technology solutions.
  • Previous experience working with system integrators, technology partners, resellers, implementation partners, or other strategic ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to manage complex bids involving multiple internal and external teams.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to connect customer and market requirements to product priorities, business opportunities, and growth strategies.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively across global, cross-functional, and culturally diverse teams.
  • Adaptable, organized, and capable of managing multiple strategic priorities in a fast-moving environment.
