We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Controls Manager to join our dynamic team at Yinson Engineering Management's Shanghai office. This pivotal role requires a professional dedicated to overseeing and directing the project controls function to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
About the Role
As a Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and performance reporting of offshore production projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, and other key stakeholders to drive execution excellence by implementing robust project control methodologies and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and manage detailed project schedules using industry-standard tools and techniques to monitor progress and forecast milestones.
- Oversee project budgeting and cost control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of financial performance against project plans.
- Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning activities to minimise project uncertainties.
- Prepare comprehensive project control reports end-to-end, providing transparent and timely information to senior management and clients.
- Coordinate and facilitate project control meetings, communicating effectively across multidisciplinary teams to align objectives and address challenges.
- Implement and continuously improve project control standards, procedures, and best practices aligned with company policies and industry benchmarks.
- Support project teams in change management processes, evaluating impacts to schedule and cost, and recommending strategies to maintain project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations throughout project execution.
- Mentor and develop project controls professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in project controls management within the offshore oil and gas or engineering sectors.
- Strong command of planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of project cost control methodologies, including Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience working within a matrix organisation, collaborating effectively across departments and cultures.
- Ability to foster positive working relationships and lead project control teams towards meeting challenging deadlines.
- A relevant degree in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent professional qualifications is preferred.
