Overview
Stellar Solutions, a nationally recognized "Great Place To Work", is seeking an entry- or junior-level systems engineer / acquisition data manager to support the successful execution of NASA's Human Landing System development contract. This position requires the ability to identify, analyze and solve NASA's programmatic challenges in new or different ways that involve the application of management, contracting and engineering best practices to achieve success.
NASA has been charged with establishing sustainable exploration and presence on the Moon by the end of the decade. The Stellar Team is helping make this ambitious challenge a reality by directly supporting NASA’s efforts to develop our nation’s future exploration systems as a collaboration between NASA, industry, and academia.
Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications
As a member of the NASA Technical & Program Management Support team, the successful candidate will be working with the Human Landing Systems Mission Systems Management Office at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. and be responsible for providing direct support to HLS Program leadership in the areas of systems engineering, acquisition data management, and technical program management.
The successful candidate will be mentored by top industry experts while applying their education and experience to satisfy Stellar Solutions’ customers' critical needs. This position supports Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), utilization of HLS program data management and transfer systems, and assists with HLS contract execution and performance management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Development and execution of program governance and business processes
- Administration and technical monitoring of HLS contracts
- Development of cost analysis reports and Independent Cost Estimates
- Development and execution of Contractor data management processes and procedures
- Assessment and reporting of Contractor technical and programmatic performance
- Assist in the development of procurement strategies and documentation
The successful candidate will advise and support HLS Contracting Officer Representatives during all phases of project execution on mission critical issues while managing contract performance data, coordinating, and monitoring interface agreements and deliverables, and supporting overall contract administration during the development, verification, and commissioning of the HLS. This position requires the ability to become quickly familiar with established procedures, stakeholder relationships and complex system architectures in a fast-paced programmatic environment. Knowledge of federal procurement processes, as well as familiarity with program management principles is required.
Performance of tasks will take place in a hybrid environment distributed between on-site work in a collaborative environment with NASA customers at MSFC and off-site work from home. All information systems and tools will be provided by the Government and Stellar Solutions.
Requirements for this role:
- Masters degree in Engineering or applicable field
- 0-3 years space systems engineering and integration experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and building/managing spreadsheets
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly reliable self-starter, can be counted on to complete assignments
- Collaborates easily with others and works well independently
- Familiarity with NASA systems engineering principles and applying NASA space flight program and project management requirements
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to achieve results within organizationally diverse teams through influence rather than direction
- Ability to travel up to other NASA centers and Contractor locations, as required
