Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a Site Reliability Engineering professional to lead technology teams, guide software delivery, and improve the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of technology systems. The role combines technical leadership, software development knowledge, cloud infrastructure expertise, Agile delivery, and stakeholder management.

The position will translate business requirements into reliable technology solutions, establish technology roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and support successful delivery of strategic initiatives. The role contributes to business objectives by improving operational efficiency, strengthening system performance, managing technology risks, and enabling sustainable technology adoption.

 

Software Requirements

Required

  • In-depth understanding of software systems, technology platforms, and software development practices.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure, including deployment, monitoring, scalability, availability, and cost management.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, data structures, and database management systems.
  • Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Experience using project management, work-tracking, documentation, and collaboration tools.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technology teams and managing software or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with system reliability practices, incident management, service monitoring, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of technology delivery processes, operational controls, and software lifecycle management.
  • Ability to assess technology solutions and recommend adoption based on business value, technical feasibility, security, maintainability, and sustainability.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in technology leadership and software development, with 8–10 years of overall experience in technology leadership and software development expected for the position.

Preferred

  • Experience with infrastructure as code, configuration management, containerization, orchestration, and automated deployment tools.
  • Experience with observability platforms covering metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and service-level indicators.
  • Familiarity with service-level objectives, service-level agreements, error budgets, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience managing technology vendors, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience supporting regulated, high-availability, or large-scale technology environments.

  • Lead and manage cross-functional technology teams responsible for software development, cloud infrastructure, system reliability, and technology delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members while supporting knowledge sharing and capability development.
  • Drive technology initiatives from planning through implementation, ensuring agreed scope, quality, timelines, reliability, security, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical, scalable, and reliable technology solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate technology roadmaps aligned with Synechron’s business strategy and technology priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering, delivery, and operational processes, and implement measurable changes that increase efficiency and service reliability.
  • Evaluate new technologies, platforms, and tools, documenting recommendations based on business needs, risk, total cost of ownership, maintainability, and sustainability.
  • Establish and monitor performance outcomes, including system availability, incident response, delivery predictability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships, assess service performance, support procurement activities, and negotiate contracts in line with business and technical requirements.

  • Monitor delivery and service outcomes, approve or recommend technical approaches within delegated authority, and initiate improvements based on performance data, incidents, cost, security, and sustainability considerations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in technology leadership and software development, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or technical leadership capacity.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud computing, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Agile delivery, project management, or security are preferred but not mandatory unless required for a specific assignment.
  • Completion of role-relevant training in cloud infrastructure, software architecture, reliability engineering, security, incident management, and leadership is expected.
  • Maintain continuous professional development through current technical knowledge, industry learning, practical application, and relevant certifications or training.
