Data Analyst – Parramatta or Berkshire Park

Location: Parramatta or Berkshire Park, NSW Company: BGIS, Government Client Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Hybrid (3 Days Office, 2 Days WFH after training)

Purpose of the Role

BGIS is looking for a Data Analyst to support asset data accuracy and reporting across a large government portfolio delivering essential community services throughout New South Wales. Reporting to the Senior Asset Manager, you will work closely with your BGIS team to review, validate, and maintain asset data, ensuring information remains accurate, current, and aligned with asset lifecycle and maintenance requirements.

This is a long standing client relationship offering excellent job security, and a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data and takes genuine pride in getting the detail right.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, thorough, and outcome focused, with strong Excel capability and a reporting background that helps you interpret data and present it clearly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and refresh asset data on a routine basis to maintain accuracy and alignment with asset lifecycle information.
  • Manage asset onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring consistent data integrity.
  • Audit data templates for consistency and quality before uploading to the central database.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards that support informed decision-making and asset performance monitoring.
  • Work with the Technical Asset Team, Facilities Managers, subcontractors, and shared services to manage asset changes.
  • Support Planned and Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programs, aligning schedules with statutory and discretionary requirements.
  • Coordinate asset validations, contractor variation requests, and vendor data amendments.
  • Support the setup of new sites, including sub-areas, asset hierarchies, and naming conventions.
  • Conduct documentation audits and maintain detailed records of asset conditions and lifecycle changes.
  • Identify data anomalies, escalate appropriately, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues who are less familiar with data structures and processes.

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in a data, reporting, or analyst role (all levels encouraged to apply)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work confidently with large data sets.
  • Experience with Power BI and reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Warm and clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable managing your own workload in a fast-paced environment with tight timeframes.
  • Higher School Certificate.

Desirable:

  • Experience with data management in a facilities or asset management setting.
  • Previous experience in a reporting-focused role.
  • Understanding of asset management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Planned and Preventative Maintenance (PPM) practices.
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and other data capture tools.
  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders across varying levels of technical knowledge.

Workplace Flexibility

This position can be based at our client site in either Parramatta or Berkshire Park, both conveniently located close to public transport and local amenities.

Full office attendance is required during the first three months to support your training and development. Following this, you will enjoy a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, operating during core business hours. 🏡
