POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Graphic Designer at LJA in our Marketing department, you will be responsible for playing a key role in the creative development and execution of proposal presentations and proposal graphics.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Collaborating closely with designers, technical staff, proposal coordinators, and project managers to understand project goals and create visual solutions that support client, stakeholder, and company objectives
  • Developing graphics and visual content that communicate complex technical information clearly, effectively, and persuasively for proposals, presentations, and marketing materials
  • Taking ownership of design projects from concept through final delivery, ensuring high quality, consistency, and adhering to company branding standards
  • Listening to project teams, asking thoughtful questions, and translating diverse perspectives into graphics that support proposal strategies and storytelling
  • Managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence
  • Thinking strategically about how design assets can support multiple business units, initiatives, and long-term company goals
  • Contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment where ideas are shared, feedback is valued, and continuous improvement is encouraged
  • Staying current with design trends, presentation techniques, and software capabilities to bring fresh ideas and innovative solutions to projects

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field from an accredited institution preferred

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of professional graphic design experience in a corporate, consulting, architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), or similar professional services environment
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in print, digital, presentation, and visual communication design. Applicants must submit a portfolio to be considered
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including the creation of polished presentations, diagrams, and infographics
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong understanding of branding, typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Ability to transform technical content into clear, engaging, and client-focused graphics
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, receive feedback constructively, and build positive working relationships across teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset and a willingness to take initiative
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience developing multi-page documents in Adobe InDesign, including proposals, qualifications packages, annual reports, editorial publications, or catalogs
