JOB PURPOSE

This role is crafted to enable market access for Unilever’s brands in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Laos by assuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and expected norms of conduct. This is an opportunity to work in a globally aligned function upholding high standards of corporate conduct whilst delivering growth and savings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assure compliance with product registration processes through outsourcing and other services.
  • Assure product compliance with applicable regulations and standards for ingredients, formulations, labels, packaging material through digitized and other processes.
  • Enable marketing claims and communications through robust risk assessment and risk communications.
  • Build business readiness for upcoming regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities in Sri Lanka.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience working with the National Medicines Regulatory Authority of Sri Lanka and working knowledge of requirements of the EU Cosmetics Directive.
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) or Chemistry (BSc in Chemistry) from a recognized local or foreign university.
  • Ability to assess and communicate business risks by analysing regulatory texts, scientific standards, trade practices, and cultural sensitivities.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams, senior business leaders, trade associations, and public officers to deliver value in complex business and regulatory environments.
  • Excellent command in English and Sinhala languages (written and verbal) and outstanding inter-personal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a multinational environment.
  • Ability to read and write in the Tamil language.
