This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Identity Security Operations Engineer based in India.

This role sits within an enterprise Identity and Access Management function, focusing on the engineering and operation of Privileged Access Management (PAM) capabilities. You will help protect critical cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments through secure, scalable, and highly automated access controls. The position combines security engineering, platform operations, automation, observability, and incident response in a global DevSecOps environment. You will work closely with customers, security teams, engineering specialists, technology partners, and vendors to maintain resilient identity services. The role offers broad exposure to complex enterprise technologies and global business operations. It is well suited to a security professional who enjoys solving challenging technical problems while continuously improving reliability, automation, and security posture.

Accountabilities

  • Engineer and operate PAM services: Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise Privileged Access Management solutions and associated security services across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Onboard identities and applications: Work directly with customers to onboard credentials, applications, roles, and privileged identities into appropriate PAM solutions.
  • Administer security platforms: Support solutions such as BeyondTrust Password Safe, Microsoft LAPS, Endpoint Privilege Management, Entra PIM, and related identity security technologies.
  • Strengthen security controls: Identify and mitigate security threats, enforce least-privilege principles, support IAM provisioning, and maintain secure and compliant platform configurations.
  • Apply SRE and DevSecOps practices: Improve service reliability, incident response, deployment processes, automation, and operational performance using SRE, CI/CD, and DevSecOps principles.
  • Build observability capabilities: Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, dashboards, metrics, logs, and traces using tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk to detect issues and suspicious activity proactively.
  • Automate security operations: Develop scripts, workflows, and API integrations using technologies such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage incidents and problems: Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex security and reliability incidents while minimizing Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Recover (MTTR).
  • Support infrastructure and platforms: Provide hands-on support across Windows, Linux/Unix, databases, virtualization, and container platforms, including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Teradata, VMware vSphere/ESX, and Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Manage change and releases: Plan, test, and deploy vendor updates and platform enhancements through rigorous change-management and CI/CD practices, targeting high availability and operational resilience.
  • Maintain resilience and continuity: Develop, maintain, and test Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans for critical identity and security services.
  • Support compliance and audits: Conduct risk assessments, maintain SOPs and technical documentation, and respond to internal, external, and customer audits in accordance with security and IT policies.
  • Collaborate globally: Partner with engineering teams, IT service organizations, customers, SMEs, and vendors to resolve issues, improve platform stability, and deliver enterprise solutions.
  • Contribute to technical planning: Define infrastructure requirements, support project charters, develop deployment and support plans, and contribute to the full technology lifecycle from design through implementation and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Identity and Security Assurance, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of total IT experience, including a minimum of 2 years in security operations support and engineering.
  • Identity security expertise: Strong understanding of Enterprise Security, Identity and Access Management, and PAM, with experience in platforms such as BeyondTrust, CyberArk, Azure/Entra ID, Google Cloud IAM, and Entra Privileged Identity Management.
  • Cloud and infrastructure: Experience supporting cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, with a solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure and security architecture.
  • SRE and observability: Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering principles and working with monitoring, alerting, and observability platforms such as Dynatrace or Splunk.
  • DevSecOps and automation: Familiarity with CI/CD, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, scripting, automation, and API-based workflows.
  • Programming and scripting: Practical experience with tools such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, or similar technologies.
  • Incident management: Demonstrated ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve security, reliability, and operational incidents in complex enterprise environments.
  • Security and compliance: Strong understanding of information security controls, policies, assurance, risk management, compliance, and secure-by-design or Shift Left practices.
  • Technical troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose complex issues across interconnected security, infrastructure, application, and cloud environments.
  • Agile delivery: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and planning tools such as Jira.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear business language.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working with globally distributed teams, multiple technical stakeholders, customers, and third-party vendors.
  • Learning mindset: Curious, self-motivated, adaptable, and able to learn new technologies quickly while sharing knowledge and mentoring others.
  • Documentation and planning: Demonstrated ability to define technical requirements, create documentation, establish operational standards, and drive initiatives through to completion.
