Help Build the Interface Behind National Cyber Readiness

Most training platforms are a checkbox and a progress bar. We're building something different.

OpenDash 360 is UKi's next-generation training and workforce readiness platform that shows an

organization exactly where its people stand against the work roles they're expected to perform, and

then closes those gaps. We're hiring a Senior UI Engineer to own the experience layer of that platform.

You'll be shaping the architecture of a complex, data-dense application: role readiness dashboards,

competency mapping, adaptive learning paths, assessment flows, and administrative tooling that

leaders actually use to make decisions. You'll work with senior colleagues to set front-end standards,

design component architecture, state management, accessibility, performance, and testing strategies.

About UKi

Since 1999, Ultimate Knowledge Institute has set the standard for cybersecurity training and readiness

for the Department of Defense, federal agencies, and Fortune 500 companies. Today we're delivering a

platform that builds and demonstrates true workforce and work-role readiness. Our platform identifies

individual expertise gaps and builds adaptive, custom training plans to close those gaps for Federal U.S.

Government, Defense, Intelligence Community, State/Local, and commercial customers. You'll be

joining a product engineering team that is expanding fast, with real users, real stakes, and wide latitude

to define how the front end of our flagship platform gets built.

What You'll Do

  • Own the OpenDash 360 UI experience layer. Design, build, and evolve the front-end architecture

of our enterprise training and readiness platform from readiness dashboards and competency

visualizations to assessment and administration workflows.

  • Set the front-end standard. Establish and enforce the patterns that keep a large application

maintainable: component architecture, state management, typed API contracts, testing strategy,

and code review norms.

  • Build the design system. Create and maintain a reusable component library and design language

that makes the product feel like one product consistent, accessible, and fast to build on.

  • Make complex data legible. Turn dense readiness, competency, and assessment data into

interfaces people can act on: clear information hierarchy, thoughtful visualization, and interactions

that hold up under real-world data volumes.

  • Engineer for performance. Own render performance, bundle size, and load behavior.
  • Ship continuously. Work inside our GitOps and CI/CD pipelines — small batches, fast feedback,

automated tests, frequent deploys.

  • Partner across the org. Collaborate directly with product, design, backend, and customer-facing

teams to turn ambiguous requirements into shipped interfaces, and mentor engineers as the team

grows.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years building production web applications, with time in a senior or lead capacity on a complex,

long-lived front-end codebase.

  • Deep Angular expertise (required): Modern Angular — standalone components, signals or RxJS-

based state, dependency injection, routing, lazy loading, and performance tuning in large

applications.

  • React experience (strongly preferred): Hooks, modern rendering patterns, and component

composition. We work across both frameworks and value engineers who move fluently between

them.

  • Expert-level TypeScript: Strong typing discipline, generics, and typed contracts between front end

and API.

  • Front-end architecture judgmen:. You've made and lived with decisions about state management,

module boundaries, build tooling, and dependency choices and can explain the tradeoffs.

  • Testing and quality discipline: Unit, component, and end-to-end testing as a normal part of

shipping, not an afterthought.

  • Experience integrating with REST and/or GraphQL APIs on Node.js/Express backends.
  • Comfort with GitOps and CI/CD, and genuine alignment with continuous delivery culture small

batches, fast feedback, blameless learning, and operational excellence.

  • A self-starter's bias for action: You see a gap in the product or the process, and you close it. You

don't wait for a prescriptive task list.

  • Strong communication skills: You can defend an architecture decision to an engineer and explain

the user impact to an executive.

  • Must be a US citizen authorized to work in the United States; role is US-remote.

Nice to Have

  • Design system or component library ownership at scale (Storybook, Angular Material, shadcn/ui, or

a custom system).

  • Micro-frontend or modular monolith front-end architectures.
  • Background in enterprise learning, training, LMS, assessment, or workforce analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with SCORM/xAPI, SSO/SAML/OIDC, or role-based access control in multi-tenant

products.

  • Experience delivering software into government, DoD, or otherwise regulated environments

(FedRAMP, RMF, STIGs).

  • Hands-on use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) and interest in an agentic

development workflow; our team is actively building one.

  • Cloud and container familiarity (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) sufficient to reason about how your

front end is built and deployed.

•     Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.

•     Short and long-term disability coverage for added security.

•     Basic life insurance provided by the company.

•     Optional supplementary life insurance policy available for additional coverage.

•     UKI covers 100% of individual premiums for medical, dental, vision, disability, and basic life insurance.

•     A 401k plan with a basic safe harbor matching (up to 4% match with a 5% contribution).

•     Enjoy 15 days of PTO annually for vacation or sick leave.

•     Benefit from 12 company holidays, aligning with 11 federal holidays, plus Christmas Eve.
