Benefits
Full description
Amazon is seeking an experienced ERP Product Manager to own the strategy and delivery of General Ledger, Finance master data, and foreign-exchange capabilities as part of a large-scale transformation of Amazon’s Finance ERP platform.
This role sits at the intersection of Accounting, Finance, Product, and technology, with responsibility for translating complex accounting, controllership, and reporting requirements into a clear product vision, prioritized roadmap, and scalable system capabilities. The product scope includes the chart of accounts, ledgers, legal entities and company codes, accounting hierarchies, financial master-data governance, currency architecture, foreign-currency remeasurement, and hyperinflation.
The successful candidate will serve as the product owner for these foundational ERP capabilities and for the supporting SAP Master Data Governance and Master Data Management solutions. You will partner with Accounting, Controllership, Tax, Treasury, Finance, Data Governance, Solution Architecture, Engineering, SAP, and implementation partners to define product requirements, prioritize capabilities, evaluate design alternatives, and guide the product through design, build, testing, deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement.
This role requires an individual who can move between detailed accounting analysis and enterprise product decisions. You will need to understand how accounting policies, legal-entity structures, ledger architecture, currencies, reporting requirements, and governance standards translate into an integrated and maintainable Finance ERP design.
Key job responsibilities
- Establish scalable master-data governance capabilities, including ownership, request and approval workflows, validation rules, effective dating, hierarchy management, change controls, audit trails, and data-quality monitoring.
- Drive product decisions for ledger architecture, including leading and non-leading ledgers, accounting principles, fiscal calendars, currency settings, and statutory-reporting requirements.
- Lead the design of chart-of-accounts capabilities, including account structures, classifications, attributes, alternate account mappings, account usage, and governance standards.
- Drive product requirements for foreign-currency remeasurement, translation, exchange-rate management, realized and unrealized gains and losses, and hyperinflation accounting.
- Ensure account and master-data attributes—including monetary and non-monetary classifications—support standardized foreign-exchange and hyperinflation processes.
- Partner with Solution Architecture, Engineering, SAP, and implementation partners throughout design, configuration, development, integration, testing, deployment, stabilization, and subsequent releases and ensure solutions meet business and product objectives
- Manage product dependencies with consolidation, intercompany accounting, subledgers, tax, treasury, planning, reporting, and enterprise data platforms.
A day in the life You will work with Accounting and technology teams to shape Amazon’s foundational Finance ERP capabilities. A typical day may include defining a ledger or currency requirement, evaluating a chart-of-accounts decision, prioritizing an SAP MDG feature, or resolving a master-data governance issue. You will partner with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Architecture, Engineering, and implementation teams to manage product decisions and dependencies. You will also review product and data-quality metrics and communicate priorities, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders.
