Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Integration Solutions Engineer (Clinical Data Exchange) to join our team in either Wilmington, Delaware, Jacksonville, Florida or Orlando, Florida.

The Integration Solutions Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day support of all Health Information Exchange (HIE) activities at Nemours, working to advance interoperability with external healthcare organizations, referring physician practices, regional and state Health Information Exchanges, government agencies and other entities as deemed by Manager. This position has responsibility for rolling out enhancements and implementing new functionality that brings value to providers, care coordinators and the care team - in support of patient care and of Nemours’ population health initiatives. The engineer is responsible for establishing new connections as well as maintaining existing integrations with other health systems, the Social Security Administration, the Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN), HealthShare Exchange (HSX) and the Florida HIE. A specific area of focus is working to improve the content of the external clinical documentation brought into the local charts.

Leveraging Epic's Care Everywhere platform, the integrations engineer will provide analysis, testing, deployment, monitoring and ongoing support of all Health Information Exchange activities and initiatives at Nemours. This includes query-based records exchange as well as Direct messaging.

This role works closely with Privacy and Health Information Management teams to ensure appropriate use of the functionality and provides assistance with patient questions and opt out requests.

  • Assumes primary engineer role for projects as designated by supervisor which may include: assisting project manager in the coordination of project plan activities; ensuring timely and effective communication between all members of the project team regarding daily status and issues; and preparing go live and sign off documents and processes.
  • Provides daily support for existing integration solutions, including modifying, testing, validating, and documenting system changes. Adheres to normal change control processes for these activities.
  • Day-to-day system administration of various integration tools including performance tuning, system monitoring, problem investigation, and application upgrades.
  • Proactively identifies process and procedural issues and suggests potential solutions and engages teammates or other teams as required.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required. A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which both technical and professional capabilities have been clearly demonstrated is required.
  • Application specific certifications must be acquired and maintained.
