Classification Title:

Competency Assessment Data Analyst 

Job Description:

This is a two-year, time-limited position reporting directly to the Project Director. The Competency Assessment Data Analyst supports a project team by designing and refining assessment tools, conducting literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing results for reporting and data sharing. The successful candidate will work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with project team members to support data collection, documentation, analysis, and report preparation.

Job Duties

  • Refine survey instruments and develop focus group protocols.
  • Conduct searches, evaluations, and syntheses of relevant literature.
  • Coordinate and support data collection activities.
  • Process, analyze, and visualize quantitative and/or qualitative data.
  • Organize, summarize, and document results for reports and project deliverables.
  • Prepare and curate project data for appropriate data sharing and preservation.
  • Maintain clear documentation related to data collection, processing, and analysis activities.
  • Assist with the preparation of project reports, presentations, and other dissemination materials.
  • Coordinate multiple project tasks and deadlines while working independently and collaboratively with the project team.

Hours

Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, 10 hours per week

The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, but schedule may vary depending on project needs.

May be required to complete ongoing technology and software training.

Expected Salary:

$22.00/hr

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of statistical software packages, such as SPSS or SAS or R.
  • Experience in data management and/or data analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo).
  • Demonstrated skill in literature searching and synthesis.
  • Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office applications including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including tracking documentation and project status updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and complete projects, including maintaining reproducible workflows and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and students.
  • Initiative, flexibility, and the ability to adapt and work creatively in a complex, rapidly changing academic environment.
  • Ability to learn new research methods and/or visualization and analysis software.
  • Ability to develop training content and teaching materials that incorporate instructional design concepts.
